Well, some progress today. I got a new serial cable and was able to communicate with the box.

While I was at Fry's, I also picked up a $2 six-foot serial cable and a $3 "super bright" blue LED. I cut off one end and soldered the LED to pins 6 and 2 (yours may be different), then plugged the serial end into the WOTbox. Ripped out the Raptor shift light; that'll be up for sale soon, since this is a much more elegant solution that doesn't require tapping into one of the coil wires.

Here's a little test with it set at 2000 RPMs...

You need a serial cable,a male plug, tie into pin 2 and 6 on the plug. The other end goes to the 2 leads on the LED. Enable the shift light on the soft ware. Plug the male connector into the female port on the WOT box. I put a flexible LED strip mounted above the hazard flasher buttons. No one even notices its there. Its bright enough I see it easily in my peripheral. Did not want a shift light that would take away from the lines in the interior.

I did tell you exactly what I did. It's that easy.

I ran mine to the gauge cluster, and have it sitting right near the 8 on the tachometer. Since it's way in the back, you can barely see it unless it's on. The gauge cluster piece comes off very easily, just by pulling, so it took about 3 minutes to run the wire from the glovebox (where the WOTbox is) to the gauge area.

Oh, make sure it's a 9 pin male on one end. Doesn't matter what's on the other end, since you'll be cutting it off. And make sure it's long enough. Mine was literally $3.

Downside: cheap ones don't come with pin-out diagrams, so you may need to spend some time with a multi-meter figuring out which wires correspond to pins 2 and 6.

Anyone try the rev limiter feature on their wotbox yet? I figure I'll set mine up once I get the blower installed so I don't hit the factory one and cut fuel.

Yes I did test it, set it to 6500 in the tune and then 6800 via the wotbox worked perfectly. sounded louder though (fuel cut smooth, spark cut pop pop pop)

I bought mine at Fry's, which is a monster electronics store. I don't think you have those up north, so I'd buy online if I were you, at the links above. Best Buy should have the serial cable. Make sure the LED is "ultra bright" because "super bright" is kind of hard to see in the sunlight.

I might be soldering in a new LED, or even a band of LEDs. I may also just buy a Raptor warning light, since that's 7 LEDs in a small footprint. $70K beerdrink into this car, what's another fifty bucks?

LOL! You're makin me feel SO much better about being about 40K into my car! But Ray, didn't you just remove a Raptor shift light from your car? You got me thinking... could I just use the Raptor in my car by wiring its LEDs directly to the WOTBOX...?

I checked with Raptor Performance and their shift light cannot be used as a simple LED warning light. Only their "warning light" can be used with these WOTboxes in that regard. Those are about $50.

Note: the Raptor shift light seemed to be working just fine in conjunction with the WOTbox, I just removed it because I didn't want to be tapped in to a COP wire if I could avoid it, since I get a lot of rain water in my engine bay with my vented hood. I consider the WOTbox method to be better.

Well I received my file but I cannot get it on my tuner. Here is what they sent in the email along with the file.

I have added the launch control feature to your tune file for you and have it
attached here. You can adjust the RPM that it is set at by reloading the tune
file and selecting to adjust the options and then selecting to adjust the

If it's anything but a (.cef, or .ll3) file you need to tell them to send you those. If they sent you a .mtf that's the raw tune file.

Damn you guys, I want a shift light, I pulled off my gauge bezel just to look behind there, how are you guys going from the glove box to behind the gauge console I don't see an easy way through. I would like to mount mine right in the middle on top of the steering wheel.

Yeah it's a cef file. But it won't load to the damn sct tuner. I'm going to go eat some dinner and try again when I have some more patience

Glovebox > out the little notch in the right side of glovebox > out the notch in the back of the glovebox area > down behind the radio > across to the driver's side > along the inside of the trim near the driver's knees > up into the gauge cluster. Pretty simple.
