Couldn't you somehow integrate the wiring the nitrous kit with using the clutch switch somehow? So when you push in the clutch the nitrous kit turns off? Let off on the clutch and the spray starts up again. I think I'm going to opt for the windows switch option. Does anybody know if the "window switch option" is only a serial cable? I suppose you could try that but I wouldn't. I'd just get a window switch and set the shift light to go off 100 rpm's after the nitrous kicks off.

I don't know about the np nitrous kit, but the Zex kit has a whole seperate box for the window switch....it's not just a serial cable.

AJ contacted the wotbox manufacturer and said it's more than just a simple serial cable. When someone gets the window switch option on the wotbox they integrate a solid state relay into the box. I figured for an extra 65 bucks why not? I have one coming soon.

but wouldn't it be better do learn without the box? I mean try and try until you get it? Im not knocking on anyone just curious

i never thought of it as learning.....just trying to keep from damaging my second transmission......i didnt know you could "learn" how not to press in the clutch......is there something special you do besides just not pressing in the clutch?

Yes, and no. I believe that you should be able to do it yourself, but a machine that has a repeatable outcome is better than a human that might mess it up. Also, if it takes the stress off the transmission while shifting I'm all for it.

It's not the pushing of the clutch.. it's timing when to do it and pulling the gear at the right time so there isn't any grinding or carnage

I alway say start in the lower rpms before you go trying to bang a gear at 6000+ try it around 54-5500 and hold the clutch in an extra little bit of time for the extra security and then as you get better the shifting gets quicker. But if you broke a transmission already then i can see your fustration

lol.....at 500hp,my shit barely shifts WITH the clutch.....:roflmao:

The one thing that I noticed that help me a bunch was the fact that it was harder to miss a gear after the WOT install. All of the butterflies and things to watch while going do the strip tend to impair my shifting abilities at times. Not to mention the sweaty palm on the shifter from having the windows up and ac off!!! I wished I would have got it 150 passes ago....

Just put together my shift light tonight will be trying it out tomorrow. I will be running this through the dash and placing it in the air vent to the right of the steering wheel so the vent will light up when it is time to shift. This way I am not drilling my dash all up to stick an LED in it.

For those of you making shift lights, check this out. I made one for DraggnRoush the other day, and rather than splicing into an existing cable, I took a cleaner and cheaper approach. I went to my local electronics outlet and bought a DB9 connector, and the pieces to assemble my own breakout box for it. A pre-made cable costs about $3, and this was $1.50 in parts. I consider this a better solution than splicing, soldering, and shrinkwrapping.

Yeah but if you've been into computers for a while like me you'll have a plethora of extra cables that no longer serve a purpose so in the end you don't really have to buy anything. However if you don't have anything then yeah buy the connector and fab away.

I have a thousand serial cables laying around, too, but I just found this solution easier and cleaner. YMMV.

Well I tried using mine today and no dice. So I took it back inside, opened it up checked everything again, swapped wires around tried again still no dice.
Bigray, could you make me one? :) I will pay you of course. Let me know I just need a bright blue LED on the end no super snazzy LED strips or anything and need the cable to be about 4-5 feet long to run through my dash.
I dont know wtf is wrong with my setup, I did a continuity test from pin 2 and 6 to the wires and it just doesnt work, i set up the shift light in the program, tried 3k, 3500rpms and it just doesnt light up.
