I can't see a difference between the vampire's knock sensor and the oem knock sensor... so why wouldn't you just try to use the OEM system... they probably have the same weaknesses with regards to supercharger NVH.
It is using the same knock sensor.
The difference is in the signal processing used to eliminate the background noise.
I am interested enough that I may buy one to try out when I complete my new engine build.

Have you gone with steel rings this time?

If I were you I'd see what it would cost to get that thing mounted on an engine dyno and broken in. Then you can really let it fly and see how it does.. not sure what your budget is like or if there are any shops around, I know I have a place and I live in the middle of nowhere.

They must have some kind of chopped up harnesses to get these efi engines to work.. that would be a huge effort, you'd want to find a cheap damaged one and just get the stuff you need, then plug in the ECU you're using in the car. No wonder nobody does this.

The first motor (JDM build) suffered from a poor break-in and tune.
The second motor (my build) suffered from a failed spark plug that I messed with by opening the gap after the plug went through several heat cycles. I believe I was experiencing spark blowout (due to opening the plug) and at the track pushing the car/motor the plug finally gave out.

On the second build, it did not consume 1 oz of oil until the event happened. The porcelain blew and totaled the cylinder wall in #7.

So this time around, hopefully nothing else happens. sigh

Heads are on and torqued. Seems odd, but things are coming together really easy its scaring me. I wonder if its because the first time I was paranoid building the motor and now I am like, been there, done that... And thats when you overlook something. sigh

Yeah, my camera likes to take really high def pictures. What you are seeing is oil with dust particles... LOL
When I cleaned the sealing surfaces, the pistons were clean and did not look like above.

That picture looks scary!! In engineering when we take pictures of hardware and failures, we have to be very cautious what pictures we send out.
Something like this would get everyone up and arms and we would be buried in questions, meetings, everyone trying to convince everyone else the world is ending.

All that stuff on the piston is oil, dust particles, and reflection of light...add high def and it looks like my #7 piston... LOL

Here is another picture I took at the same time in a different angle... lol

AAAhhh, that looks better.

You know, the top of my head does the same thing. In real life, I have lots of hair. In pics, not so much.

Yes, I'm delusional.

Got an issue I need help with...

Check out these videos.

1000 mile TFS gear:

These were the gears from the original JDM motor.
10000 mile stock gears:

Is this normal? I remember when I installed the TFS gears when new they were solid. I even have a brand new stock gear set and it still has some play, but very minimal compared to these.

What do you guys day about this?

That does not look right to me. I see that the gear has multiple key ways. Does it do that in in every key way?

have you tried a different woodruff key?

I have a hard time seeing the difference.
Can you put a dial indicator on it to quantify the difference between the 2 gears?
In my opinion you are probably talking less than 1/2 a degree.
If it is the hardness of the gears that is a problem then I would agree that this would become a long term issue.

+1
I'm having a hard time seeing the difference, too.
Personally, I'd run that shit.
