Great job!

Thanks, time to get yours together next!

Update: I had another bung welded into my crossover tube then picked up another fitting, reassembled and pressure tested it and this time there were no leaks!

I finished reinstalling the intake, etc., swapped out the old fuel for new, now back to doing some wot bursts to get those rings seated!

Got everything back together, fine tuned the alignment and went for another drive this afternoon after work and recorded a data log. Everything worked great, I did get a CEL though with P0175 - system too rich bank 2, I reviewed the log and everything looked okay to me under wot but maybe there's some driveability stuff I need lito to fine tune, we'll see what he thinks.

I moved the catch can line during reassembly this time, much better!

I went to go for a drive this morning to put some miles on the new motor then when I started it I heard a weird noise, shut it down opened the hood and found a shredded belt, WTF? I didn't see anything out of order, all the pulley's are tight and in the correct position as far as I can tell. The belt kind of just split apart, almost like it was dry rotted. I didn't see anything rubbing, etc. I picked up another one, started it, watched closely, everything looks fine, I guess I'll just hope it was a bad belt, I don't feel super comfortable with that but I don't have any other options so I'll hope for the best!

I'll go for a short ride later this afternoon and see how it goes.

When mine did that it was an idler pulley that was loose

I drove mine a few miles with the new belt then came back home and inspected, I found the belt was hanging off the back of one of the idler pulleys ever so slightly, I removed that pulley and sure enough it doesn't spin anywhere near as freely as the others, it will go about 1/2 turn and the others will spin about 2+ turns, and it had some weird pattern on it so I picked up a new one from Vatozone and installed it, will go for another spin tomorrow and see how it goes. Here's the old pulley, hopefully this was the culprit.

I can report one thing though, this motor screams! IDK if it's just been a long time since I drove my car until now or what but it sure seems faster than my previous motor, even in the 90+ degree heat today it pulled like a sonbitch and I only took it to about 6200! No complaints in that dept!

Just attempted to go for another drive, checked the belt alignment before heading out and found there's still a problem, at least I found the problem now.. in any case the belt is walking back and forth about .100 on the upper DS idler pulley (it walks off the back of the pulley just enough to cause stress and ultimately belt failure), this is a new pulley so that's not the issue. Any ideas? I didn't have this issue before the PS delete, maybe related to that? the belt remains in the same location on all the other pulleys with no walking at all. Here's a video, I may post this in tech also:

Maybe a pulley with a guide would help keep it in position. It may also be the length from one pulley to the next that is allowing it to move around. If you can't find one I would take a grooved one and machine the groves off as long as there is enough material to support the belt.

I figured out the belt issue, it was a bad idler pulley, the lower groved pulley on the DS. It looked fine but when I swapped it out the problem went away!

Now back to breaking in the new motor!

Brief update, Lito's been tweaking the tune for drivabilty, we've been fighting a CEL with P0175 code (bank 2 rich) but I uploaded his latest tune revision and went for a 15+ miles drive yesterday and the CEL did not come on so it looks like he nailed it this time, now to put some miles on the motor, about 200-250 then I can switch to some good oil, probably Driven DT40 again.

So far this motor has been a much different and better experience than my previous motors, it's much stronger and more reliable, even after driving 50+ miles there's nothing in my catch cans, with my previous motor there would have been at least a 1/2 cup of water in them! That tells me there may have been issues with that motor all along.

So far so good!

Congrats on getting rid of the CEL. I'm also using Driven Oil but the FR20 which is designed for the Ford Mod motors and the Coyote.

Thanks, what I would really like to run is 10w-40 weight full synthetic version of Driven, but I haven't found the right one yet, and I have a case of DT40 already, which is 5w-40. My cams are locked out and my clearances are fairly loose, that's why I want the heavier viscosity. I would even consider the DT50, which is 15w-50.

Also, for Billy, not sure if you still want this info or not but here's one of the back rotors, looks like its about 2.25" tall. I had to pull it off to fix an oil leak at the PS c-clip elim.

That's what I needed, they are the same as the ones I have now from the kit I whipped up. They are advertised as a little larger off set as are mine. That tells me the brackets will work will what I have now. Thanks!

Cool, glad to help.

That would be a looong drive in my car, lol I dont know if I could fit enough fuel jugs full of e85 to get there and back!

On another note, I have a new problem now, go figure! My PS c-clip eliminator wants to leak all of a sudden. I took it apart and re-sealed it last night then went for a long drive this morning and it was leaking again. It looks like it's leaking b/w the bearing plate and ABS ring, if that's the case I'm pretty sure I'm screwed and will have to call Strange on Monday. I just took it all apart and reassembled it again after a through cleaning, I'll go for another drive tomorrow and see what happens but I'm not holding my breath. As much as this sucks, I'll take it any day over broken engine block issues!

Anyway I did take a few pics this morning:

I had the exact same issue with c clip elims

I wound up using the ford diesel RTV silicone ( the grey stuff).

Hasn't leaked since.
