Ever get that question? What is your answer?

Here is mine:
Nobody told me there was an age limit for fun. Do you know what that is?

I've never heard that question, but my answer would be "Fuck off! I'll drive whatever I want." Same answer I'd give someone complaining about my car's fuel efficiency or emissions as well as a complaint about my truck's size.

I was told to move my truck at work once because it was "too big". My reponse was it takes exactly the same amount of space as any car out there....one parking spot. I still had to park in a different lot though. BS.

I actually don’t get many comments at all.. the car gets a LOT more attention when my parents are in town and borrow it to get around which leads to some humorous exchanges. My Dad, a non-car guy, got asked at a gas station ‘What you got in it?’ and I guess ‘My briefcase.’ wasn’t the answer they expected.

Anybody asking that question probably is either a douche driving his dad's car, or a car bought with dad's money. Most people understand hot rods are not cheap. You need a decent job to be able to afford to buy/build/drive one. Go to just about any car show and the nicest cars are owned by older guys. Why? They can afford it.

Yeah. Those guys waited a lifetime (working, raising kids, being married...more than once lots of times) to have the time and means to buy what they always wanted but couldn't swing when they were "kids". Good for them.

I'd say that I am more in the middle of 2 generations for these cars. I'm too young to be one of the old guys and too old to be a proper hooligan.
No one with kids my age can afford a toy like this these days, life is way too expensive where I live.

I wonder if anyone ever asked Paul Newman that when he raced until he was 82 years old, or current drag racer Chris Karamesines who is 86 and still at the track every weekend. I'm 57 and hope I can be as lucky....

My response would be "kiss my fucking Italian/Native American ass" I would also tell them I started driving Mustangs before they were even born!

Grumpy old man! :angry1:

I never get asked that question. You could probably count the number of Mustangs like mine in Cyprus with the fingers of one hand, and when it's red with black racing stripes it turns a lot of heads and gets plenty of attention. :D
