He mentions an article discussing the PHB vs Watts link . . . did that ever happen?

I do have to pick one rather minor nit here - 92.2 bore x 92.7 stroke is undersquare, not oversquare. But he's not the first (younger) person to get the two terms confused.

Is there any high-flo catted mid pipe on the market that connect to the stock manifolds that aren’t magnaflows?

Kooks longtubes are off road only. See here, clearly states: WARNING: This is a RACE ONLY product manufactured and sold for installation on vehicles to be used solely for competition purposes.

LTH https://kooksheaders.com/headers/long-tube/1-34-x-3-ss-headers-2011-2014-mustang-gt-50l

Green Cats: https://kooksheaders.com/exhaust/cr...-green-catted-h-pipe-2011-2014-mustang-gt-50l
Then what is the real purpose behind the Kooks Green Catted H-pipe being EPA 49 state certified and able to pass OBDII emissions requirements if it's not legal for street use? Doesn't make any friggin sense.. So why even bother spending 2x the amount on Green Cats over non EPA hi-flow cats, if they're only to be used for off-road purposes? Once again, doesn't make any damn sense lol.

Pypes Performance Exhaust, Bassani Exhaust and SLP performance also offer hi-flo catted mid-pipes that connect to the stock manifolds. JBA performance exhaust also has them for all 2011-current models.

You aint kidding on the price. I would have a set on there with green cats if it was certified. And I like the design of the Kooks headers with the equal runners.

I guess the only point I see is if an inspector and/or cop looks under the car, you have cats. And if the OBD 2 monitors complete there is a much better chance to pass smog as opposed to "incomplete or N/A monitors". Till the shop checks for OBD certs.
So sad.

I thought Kooks Green Cats were certified under GESI? But if not, then I suppose the only way to get around it legally, is by swapping back and forth between the OEM stock catted mid-pipe and your Kooks long tube headers, which no doubt will be a major PITA, but it is what it is

They're all complete hi-flow catted mid pipe crossovers that include hi-flow cats designed for the stock manifolds.

In my area, law enforcement frequently has on-side smog inspection.

Much appreciated. Love it... got a 2013 GT.

Afraid I have bad news for you. Neither Pypes performance exhaust, JBA exhaust, SLP performance or Bassani exhaust offer any hi-flow catted mid-pipes for the 2011-14 GT models designed for the stock manifolds. Therefore, your only options are sticking with Magnaflow or by splicing in a pair of hi-flow cats to your stock mid-pipe which unfortunately will require cutting off your stock cats.. You may also want to consider purchasing an off-road mid-pipe and then splice in a pair of hi-flow cats while being able to save your stock catted mid-pipe as a backup when necessary

It's only going to be a matter of time before all law enforcement areas follow suit, thanks to the EPA clean air bullshit laws.. From your post description, I take it that your located in California?

So is there much difference between a 200cell cat and off road (cat less)? I think oem is 400cell car(?) Are they’re gains to be had or leave it stock if you cannot legally have catless?

The green cats will allegedly pass Maryland emissions tests, according to Revolution Automotive.

I'm actually saving up to do Kooks long tubes with Green cats, 2018 manifold, and dyno tune all at once.

Major difference between hi-flow cats over stock cats, is sound. Other than that, there's very little to be gained as far as HP/TQ are concerned. The stock cats are actually pretty efficient and less restrictive compared to the previous SN-95 and Fox body generations. As for a 200cell cat vs off-road goes? Once again, there's very little to be gained performance wise. Therefore, if sound is your main objective? I would go off-road/catless which will also save you money over adding hi-flow cats in the process. Also keep in mind that removing the stock catalyst exhaust is illegal, so it doesn't really matter whether you run catless or hi-flow, as nether are technically legal for street use, to begin with anyhow. At any rate, if your expecting a noticeable improvement in performance over the stock exhaust? then upgrading to Long Tube headers is the way to go. However, just as mentioned, removing the stock catted exhaust is illegal. That being said, it all comes down to personal preference as to which is more important and if the risks involved are worth taking

I thought so.

let’s take out the legal vs illegal argument. Where are you getting your net horsepower claim? I’ve seen coyote engine net 10rwhp with my own 2 eyes off going catless. So what your saying is there’s no difference between 400 vs 200 cell vs off road pipe? I want to make sure I am understanding.

First off, it was you who brought up the legality concern in your previous post. Therefore, if you've already seen Coyote engines net 10rwhp by going catless? then why even bother going thru the additional expense and hassle of adding hi-flow cats, if legality isn't a concern? just go catless/off-road and be done with it. And second, I didn't post a fucking word about there being no difference between 400 cell vs 200 cell vs off-road, I clearly stated there was very little difference between a 200 cell hi-flow cat vs off-road/catless regarding any substantial performance gains. Also for the record, I never mentioned anything regarding net horsepower claims. All I said was other than for just sound, there is very little performance gains to be had between stock and hi-flow cats. The bottom line is this, you submitted several posts in this thread searching for feedback addressing your questions/concerns and were provided with feedback addressing your questions 4 consecutive times. That being said, if the feedback provided isn't acceptable enough in meeting your standards or to your liking? then don't bother wasting any of the forum members time on this site, to begin with!

Gwhiz. No ones actually attacking you. If you’re that offended, don’t respond. You don’t own this site nor speak for everyone. Bottom line: You’ve merely stated your opinion. If you don’t want to answer or like someone’s else’s opinion don’t respond. I live in a emissions free state. I was merely curious. I know little about cats, thought I’d learn. Clearly that’s not the case even if I was asking if I understood correctly? Again, you gave your own opinions. Which is fine but don’t get bent out of shape when someone as for clarity vs blowing a gasket.

FYI newbie, I responded 4 times to each of your questions in an attempt to address your concerns and you then have the fucking nerve to throw up in my face that I posted there was no difference between the stock exhaust vs catless when that was never the case. Also FYI: I never claimed to own this site nor speak for everyone on it, but rather was referring to myself also as a forum member lol. Therefore, once again, if your unable for whatever reason to accept feedback from someone who's attempting to address your questions and concerns in both a respectful and courteous manner? then just don't bother to respond in the first place. As for clarity is concerned? perhaps if you bothered to clarify that you lived in an emissions free state and had little knowledge about catalytic converters from the very beginning? just maybe there would had been no reason for anyone to get bent out of shape nor misinterpreted anything that was posted, to begin with!
