...did you make progress here?...
I wanted to make an update here anyways. TÜV appointment is on 10/10 (funnily enough it's the Stangs birthday aswell) so it's gonna be tight, but If I can drive the car in at least the last week of october (where I'm off work) I've reached my goal.
So for the most part I've been researching and figuring out more about how the electronics work in the car. Plus just planing out where to mount all the electronics, how to run the wiring and what else I need to integrate/solve to have no DTCs or anything else like that.
Surprisingly the SJB monitors some of the lighting on the car and all of it in different ways. The tail lights circuits are sensitive to resistance, with each single socket having different testing voltages. The third brake light is just checking for a complete circuit and the side markers aren't monitored at all......
Best Example the front turn signals:
After two months the clear housings finally arrived. (Yes I know it's dusty, don't look at the penis drawn on the hood)

Since the front parking lights can't be amber I got these fully clear housings and swapped the clear 3157 with a amber 3156. (and snapped both connector unlock tabs for the sockets in the process..... why tf are motorcraft connectors 30$ each???)
Just had to shorten the side tabs so it would slide into the socket securly. What was the side marker will now be the front parking light.
Weirdly enough the SJB only monitors the turn signal circuit, so no DTCs from the GEM for the front lighting. Just a almost straight parts swap. I was completly expecting to need to add load resistors for that, even bought the sockets and connectors to put in between the original car harness and the socket in the housings.... well... luckily I didn't get expensive ones.
It'll be the only thing noticable from the german road law compliant conversion, but I'll try to somehow get the orange ones back because they just look cooler.
The same day (Aug 29th) I went to talk to the TÜV guy if and how everything should exactly be. I expected the worst and got back really good news. Most of what I want to do will be no Problem and most importantly I don't need to stamp in the VIN on the frame, making the whole conversion 100% reversable with no signs of tampering if ever needed or wanted.
There's only 3 things:
1. Turn signals can't override the brake lights on one side. (If I understood it correctly. Will talk to him again when we got the car there aswell)
2. The front Fogs will either need to have a certificarte that they meet ECE-R19, be swapped for ones that do or permanently deactivated
and 3. I need something up front where the car can be towed
For 1. I found a solution, which is even sold for 2015+ Mustangs here in germany with certification:
It'll basically be the same just the brake being the middle and outer chambers while the turn signal will be the inner most chamber. (Aswell as the rear fog being in the left reverse chamber, like I wanted to do from the beginning.)
But since I can't really do that with the current LED bulbs I have I will have to leave the sequential turn signal out for now and only have the inner chamber flash.
The Problem with the current LEDs is that they have a delay when switching from amber to red which IS NOT OKAY FOR BRAKE LIGHTS. And since I want red/amber bulbs and not white/amber bulbs (to differentiate the colors better) and no one sells the ones I need I'll have to contact someone to have them custom made over the winter.
For 2..... I got the certificate. The Managing Director of the company that sells these told me they had the certificate made years ago for one guy in switzerland who payed 2.4k before taxes for it. No one else since has asked for it, they all swap or delete them and they're still in the negative for it. I'm the second person to want that certificate lol.
And for 3. I got the SVE Tow Hook from
LMR.com. Which I'll be able to hide nicely behind the front license plate bracket.

Plus it's another reason why I NEED to have the bracket - for pedestrian crash protection

so I unfortunatly I can't run the ugly standard german license plate in the front and NEED the better looking smaller one..... oh how unfortunate.... *insert the most extrem obvious sarcasm ever known to man*
I'll update on that once it's arrived and mounted.
So most of the time it's just been boring research and rethinking everything.
BUT I also treated myself to a NOS 07-09 GT500 Steering Wheel and got the ProCal Tool with the retune for my Ford Racing CAI sent on the way here together with the tow hook.
Also right now I'm having a custom dash and firewall data plaque made with my name and signature on it to finalize the whole thing and just attach my name to the car for the rest of time.
