... life is short , my friends. So for me it is no question if the " Rennleitung " ( Rennleitung is a german slang word for the Police.. comes from RENNEN -Racing.. Leitung comes from Supervisor )
takes care abot such little things. Every day I see more and more cars and even motorcycles who have amber position lamps in the front area....

And, until there is no digital ID simply do not show them your papers. Yea, you probably pay 10 euro fine but they cannot confiscate them.

Yes I know... the "trick "is to leave the wallet at home...and if there is a control... You can say ups I think I forgot my wallet ...at home.

Until CBDC and ID with wallet is active. You will not leave your home without phone, because all "money" is in it and your "German card" and this is connected to drivers license and all your cars you own (this is not fantasy, it is in EU documents). And if you left it a home, they scan your face or fingerprint (which is already scanned for ID since 2010).
They are BORG, resistance is futile.

WELL..... I got it.
No problem.
Literally no complaint from TÜV.

IMG_20251011_225615365.jpg

He was so chill and talkative and really liked the car. I was so nervous in the beginning and and every time he said "xxxx looks/is really good" I got more and more chill myself. After everything was done and he told me I was the happiest man alive! Half a year of messing around and dealing with all this bullshit..... it was ALL worth it....

Also he didn't even notice the tow hook behind the front license plate bracket and after I mentioned it he was like: "Wow das ist ja wirklich komplett nach Vorschrift gemacht, nehmen wir auch gleich mit in die Dokumentation auf!" (Wow, that really is done completely according to the rules, we'll include it in the documentation right away!).

Front parking lights were the side markers used to be: compliant
Rear Fog where the left reverse light used to be: compliant
No punched in VIN: compliant
Yellow Turn Signals in the red housing: compliant
Sequential Turn Signals: compliant
EVERYTHING I DID: compliant

Only special permit is for the rear side markers.

I had to disable the seqential turn signals for now because of the yellow to red delay in the current LED bulbs I have but I showed it to him how when braking the middle and outer chambers yellow turns off and switches to bright red for brake lights and he said if I get bulbs with no delay I can turn it on again no problem.
Also the rear brake lights on the right started to flicker one time (WHICH DIDN'T LITERALLY 10 SECONDS BEFORE) when he looked over the lights but after he stepped on them again they stopped and I almost got a heart attack.
He was like "that was weird how they flickered" and I was just like "yea its all still a bit thrown together in there, gotta iron out a few rare kinks still since it's the first custom made like that and I just got it to work" and he just smiled "alright".

The wiring in the rear is currently a complete mess and just made to work for TÜV but over the winter I will pull it all out and make it nice. I'll either throw some simpler temporary wiring in there or put in the original harness (red turns) for the last two October weeks so I can just drive it without any worries of lights not working right.

The whole days leading up to TÜV were a nightmare.... had to redo the wires a bunch of times because problems came up I didn't account for, literally stayed up to 2am for everything to be perfect and work flawlessly. I then noticed the rear fog switch didn't light up so we took it apart to jury rig another LED in there and to top it all of literally the night before our guy with the red license plates was nowhere to be found and I had to somehow get a trailer and short term have my dad drive me since I have no license for trailers.
I still can't believe we made it.

Only casualty of all of this was the original rear tails (RIP, seriously fuck those polish idiots) and the front upper crash bar foam pice (that has GT stamped in it) which we had to trim for the tow hook and accidentally overdid..... There always has to be some loss.
Also the car rolled onto the trailer winch while unloading but it was only on the bottom of the front lip where it's already scraped to hell by the previous owner so.... meh. Probably gonna get a new bumper at some point anyways.

Whole rear tail light area is now full of scratches from all the million times I had to take out the rear tails, but all the paint and everything will be made nice in spring next year.

Also already have the eVB-Number aswell so on Monday we'll go get the plates for the Stang and hoepfully my buddys friends is cool enough to give me front and rear small plates.

Funny enough we got TÜV on 10/10 which is also the build date of the Mustang.

*Sigh* as expected the DMV had to step in to SAVE THE DAY and not let me register this oh so COMPLETLY UNFIT FOR THE ROAD car..... the reason you ask? because the fucking VIN isn't punched in..... WHICH I WAS TOLD I DON'T NEED TO DO ANYMORE.....
And even after that TÜV is still like: no you don't need to do that.... we'll see how that's gonna turn out since he'll talk to the DMV.

Welp I either beg and hope with some examples of other cars not having them aswell and being registered that they'll let it slide or not drive it this year because there's no one able to do it before the end of the month..... also I'm not gonna do that unless completly neccessary because there's no going back afterwards

... DMV. sucks ! about the VIN. Why don´t you buy a set of "Letter /Number Punches " and DIY the job at home... A clam hand and BFH is all you need.. use the right shock tower. After all is done, you can drive to the TUV and they will punch in the Star before and after the VIN.

you know... the TUV says.. SMALL Plates.. ( License Plates ) ..and the DMV does not seal them.
Because the DON´T want to seal them..just for fun..just because the think they are GOD
And unfortunately it looks like they are GOD.

Now you have two possibilities ... Move towards NRW ( north rhine westfalia ) and you are good to go...or buy the Punches..

Greetings Jürgen

P.S in Mönchengladbach you get the 320x150 mm license plates front /rear without any issues.

After I reached out to the "Zulassungsstelle" very friendly via email and added some pics to their response, I finally got this today:
"
Sehr geehrter Herr xxx,

Dear Mr. xxx,
Thank you very much for sending the pictures.
As an exception, we can issue you a light motorcycle license plate. However, since the vehicle is not a classic car, we must charge a fee of €60.00 for this special permit.
To make the change, you will need an appointment, which you can book with us online or by email.

=> Have a guess who will be with a small licence plate on her beauty ass for the next season :peace:

We already do have punches but I'll try the cowards way first.
Since GriffX sent me his registration that states nothing about the VIN it can't not be possible. I'll call my TÜV and some others that also allow it tomorrow and go there and maybe I'll convince them. If not I can still do that.

Well...I tried talking to him again to maybe change his mind in a non forceful tone and have them understand my situation but.....
that motherfucking coward couldn't even face me and tell me no himself.

Had his assistant tell me he's not gonna talk to me unless the VIN is on the car.
"There's nothing we can do" YES THERE IS!!! EU-LAW WOULD ALLOW IT BUT NOOO YOU'RE STAYING PUT ON NATIONAL LAW WHICH IS BELOW EU-LAW BECAUSE YOU NEED TO SUCK OFF SOME DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT OR MINISTRY! TÜV EVEN CONFIRMED IT, THERE'S NOTHING LAW/REGULATION WISE AGAINST IT!

Literally the only reason I have to punch in the VIN now is because of a "Nuh uh I dont want to".
If I ever come across that bastard again I'll punch somehting else in.

All I can tell everyone else now is learn from my suffering and if you ever need to register the car with the Landkreis Rosenheim then go to Wasserburg.
They would have done it but Rosenheim blocked them.
Oh how I wish I would have gone to Wasserburg first.....

Well.... I tried it all.... no way around it. There have been Problems in the Past with cars that didn't have the VIN punched in so they don't do that anymore. Once again a few dumbasses ruining it for everyone else.....
They could have at least told me the reason.... but no I had to go through 5 people that are friends of fiends to find that out.....

IMG-20251027-WA0009.jpegIMG_20251027_201156671.jpg

I know this sounds stupid but doing it genuinely did hurt.... So close to a trace-free reversable conversion.... at least I can say I did it all myself.

IMG-20251029-WA0024.jpegIMG_20251029_200853406.jpg

Now its officially mine and allowed on the road!

But of course that asshole of a supervisor could not accept the TÜV-Report and 30 pictures and of the rear license plates cutouts every angle, even tho it clearly shows the smaller license plate is the only one that would be compliant to be mounted AND THEY TOLD ME pictures would be fine.

Like even the employee at the counter and the one next to us who overheared everything were like "This is seriously getting ridiculous." "He's made such a fuss about it now he can't just back down and admit what he said was wrong" (second one is because at the first visit I asked about the plate sizes and he told me that I won't get anything)

Gave me the big ones and told me to bring the car in person..... I've had 5 visits to the DMV now and now I gotta go there in March AGAIN!
(For anyone non German I have a "seasonal plate" which only allows the car on the road from Beginning of March to the end of October, so I don't pay taxes and insurance for the winter where I won't drve it)

Now let's finally get some positivity back into this thread.

Had two days of driving left this year. First day and first real drive was a 400km trip to visit my buddy in vienna, second day was the same way back home.

The first time I dropped into second gear and passed someone WOT..... It was all worth it.

Merging onto the Autobahn and flying past everyone on the left lane for the first time..... My inner 6 year old was screaming with joy!

IMG_20251030_190410133.jpgIMG_20251031_125733397.jpg

Those 8 hours of driving with the 1 hour driving around in vienna..... I wished I could have driven it more....

And on the way back I already just passed the 240km/h mark on the Tachometer and didn't die! Could have probably gotten even a bit more but ran out of straight road.

It's defintely not a Top/High Speed car. Not geared for that AT ALL plus the hood fluttering and rear axle being "noticable" are a bit concerning, but it sits very comfortably at 160km/h (my usual Autobahn travel speed) and up to that point it pulls really nicely.
I'm sure all of that can be improved. The 2013 A/T M+S Tires are probably also not exactly helping here.....

But for now it's stored away for the winter, over which I will redo the rear wiring and get the right LEDs made.
Next year it will get all its fluid and maintenance stuff done so I don't have to worry for it and we'll see about all the other smaller details that can be done.

Honestly, being swedish and reading about your shitfight against authorities makes me…Well…Worried…? Pissed off…? Happy that we don’t have all of these stupid regulations yet…?

Sweden have had very good regulations for all kind of classic cars for a long time. Regulations completely different from the rest of EU and completely independent from TÜV. We have been one of few european countries where importing an old american car or building your own hot rod has never been a problem.

But this is apparently ”under investigation” from some jackasses in Brussels…Of course, this little country on top of Europe can’t be allowed to do their own thing…They also have to follow and praise Dictator Ursula…!

Sometimes I wonder if we would not have been better off just staying outside this god darn union and the idiocrazy that comes with it…?

@ DE Marcus... why did you punch the VIN into the rocker panel ??? The shocktower is a much better place.. also if you think about the damage you made concerning the rust protection,
