As for pricing... My guesses are (starting at) $39k for the regular Boss 302....
For that evil-looking black & red car.....I can live with that. Quite easily.

A nav system is not about luxury. It's about telling you where to go. It would be even better if the nav system could display race tracks showing you where you are on the track and what the next turn will look like. Sort of like in racing video games.
There is not enough content to justify a 10k increase in price between the two. Plus, they are not going to list it higher than a gt500, whose base price is 48k.
Remember, this is a base car we are talking about. Crummy interior, crummy radio, manual cloth seats, etc. Base GT is 29k, and base with brakes would still be less than 31k. If they think they are going to get 8-9k for the difference on the regualr boss, then they are nuts. I am betting the regualr Boss comes in at 35k-36k base and the Laguna comes in 38-39k No one in their right mind is going to pay 45-50k for a laguna. When the 2011 hype dies down, you will be able to pick up a gt500 for under MSRP, just like every other gt500, so no onw would buy the laguna.
Ever been on a racetrack? Trying to use the nav screen for something like that would be damn near impossible, and dangerous.
And yes, nav IS a luxury.
A NAV system in a BOSS goes against everything that the BOSS was meant to be. A BOSS should be a car that forgoes certain niceties in exchange for an in your face styling and the performance to back it up.
Now one can only hope that a bored and stroked 6.2 shows up to re-imagine the BOSS 429 in the next few years too.
The only Shelby cars that were cut down racers were the GT350's and the Shelby Cobra's The original GT500's were ALWAYS equipped as "luxury" muscle cars. The BOSS 302, 351 and 429 were always very limited on options and were even base model cars to start off with before they were built up as racers that you could buy from the dealer. You could say the same for the GT500, Shelby GT, etc. It's not 1970. If you want a stripped down race car Ford has a Boss 302R for you...
I know it's not a base car, but it does have the bottom of the line seats, radio, lighting, etc. I am sure the motor and suspension will eat up the cost, but I can't see it costing 40k for a regular boss. You have to think the diff and seats will add a few grand to that tally as well. The, there won't be much differrence between the Laguna and the boss with the racaros, so I can't see it being that much more.Ever been on a racetrack? Something to consider... This will be a 2012 model. So you can't exactly compare it to 2011 pricing. And, the Boss isn't considered a "base" model. It will be priced at or above the premium GT's. The Laguna Seca is a "limited" model, which will be priced even higher for those who just have to have it. Everyone said a $50k GT500 wouldn't sell. Yet they did. Everyone said a $75k KR wouldn't sell, yet they did. The Laguna Seca will sell as well. It's essentially the new Cobra R, and at $65k, those all sold too.

pacettr-
All of my facts are correct. All Boss pricing is merely speculation.
The adjectve "crummy" is relative.
Your pricing speculation is WAY off base. Your ASSumption that no one would pay $10k more for a BOSS that a GT is misinformed at best. You probably would never have guessed people would pay $10-20k over MSRP for GT500's...?
There is an ass for every seat. The world is full of idiots. The are many sayings that would apply to people that pay 10-20k over sticker for a gt500.
Sure there are people that would probably pay 40k for a base "BOSS". However, at that price delta there will be many people that will opt for a gt with 10k in their pocket to mod it.
Ever hear of Steeda, Roush, Saleen? Alot of those "idiots" (see sig) could have pocketed the extra money and modded their GT, but then they'd just have a modded GT. It's not all about content and price delta, slick.
And anyone that pays more than GT500 money for the Laguna is even a bigger idiot. That is Vette money, and I am sure a Vette on R compounds would kick that crap out of the Laguna anywhere.
Based on...? Were the people who paid $55k for a 2000 Cobra R bigger idiots than that?
I like the car, and will consider one for a daily driver depending on price. There are way better buys for 50k though, and more importantly, there wouldn't be enough difference between the Laguna and Boss with seats to justify it. I think it is terrible that the Laguna is only offered in those two colors and only with red accents.
You are also an idiot for thinking you need a nav system in a BOSS mustang for the racetrack.
Arent' you the idiot that is considering one for a daily driver in the above paragraph? Double talk much?
The whole point is to give the car the whole "race car" vibe. You are not going to be looking down at the nav screen when you are on the track you nub. It's not a video game.
EDIT:
As for being way off base pricing wise, here is a quote I found just for you
"The 2012 Mustang Boss 302 will not be the most expensive pony car. Instead, it will be positioned between the Mustang GT and the Shelby GT500, said Ford spokesperson Angie Kozleski in a phone conversation with Inside Line. "We're talking roughly between $34,950 and $49,995 (MSRP)," said Kozleski. "Mustang is fun, fast and affordable. We want to make sure it's a performance Mustang at an affordable price."
Kozleski was unprepared to talk about volume on the Mustang Boss 302. "We're sorting through that right now," she said. "It will be limited." While Ford said it is tracking the number of people who are searching Mustang Boss 302 on the Internet, it is "too early to see the hand-raisers" who want to buy the car," Kozleski said"

How much was the premium for a 03-04 Mach and the 01 Bullitt? Adjusted for inflation?

So you're psychic now? GT500's will sell below sticker?
Now where is the "dumb ass" smiley?
PS - I wasn't implying that you were way off base on pricing (we are all just speculating), just that you are clueless as to the buying motivation for this segment.
Quick question here, Slick: did you join this forum just to rag the shit out of a car that has not even been released yet? You've got three posts and you're dissing the shit out of the goddamn thing. Plus, you're ragging on someone who sells specialty and standard Ford products day in and day out. Pacettr "understands the show."
Just wanted to know your motivation for being on an S197forum while showing that kind of attitude on your first three posts.
