Well the time has come after im tired of drag racing the car for the most part, to change to a different venue. I scraped the anti-roll bar and replace and re installed swaybars front and rear, upgraded panhard and brace( for now till i feel like getting a watts link). Lowered the car via steeda ultra lights, got upgraded tie rods, bump steer, x5 ball joints, strut mounts blah blah blah.

My main concern is the texas mile where ill be trying to break what i see is the fastest 3v mustangs top speed (180.3 mph). I would like to know if anyone has any reccomendations on what i can do to keep the front end on the ground and control the downforce ina decent way. Ive also thought about making some belly pans to stop the air from catching underneath but mainly worried about the downforce ill want up front.

Thanks in advance for any help. Its been great browsing this forum and seeing all the badass pics and videos of your trips to the tracks, getting me all riled up!!!

This will be my 5th trip to the mile in March, i'll be excited to see some S197s represent. I remember about 3 Miles ago seeing a Vista Blue GT500 run somewhere near 190+ and then grenade its motor on the next run.

I would love to run the mile in my Mustang. I wonder how much HP a S197 needs to break that record.

The S197 record is much higher, but 181 would own you the 3V record! Ford power has already broke 250 mph!

Yea, and the only one there to drive a domestic.

I am very jealous, you guys have done some amazing stuff from SW's Supra to your 996 Turbo tuning packages. Chris with the 996 Turbo is has made almost 870 rwhp with your kit on stock internals!

I don't know him but he is on another forum I am on, he used to be an LSx guy. If I remember right his brother has a nitrous 427 C5 and is on a few of the Vette forums I am on.

But back on track, I think a lot of the drag strip motor builds that most do would have a hard time surviving multiple mile competitions!

I agree. Nothing puts more strain on an engine than holding full throttle in high gear at or near redline.

I would love to know how a Mile build would differ from a drag motor build as far as engine. I have some idea , but it seems like its a tight rope walk between power and longevity.
