Guys my GT just turned 60k miles young this morning. What should I do as preventative maintenance? I know its due for Oil Change. What else should I address especially since I do plan on going head/cam this winter.

Thanks for the help.

Carburetor jets should be changed.

Ha! very cute. lol. Should i also check the flux capacitor?

Let me re-phrase the original post. My car just turned 60k miles, what would you guys do aside from the normal services.

Anything else that should be looked into? Im not a car retard. It was more a question of with the mileage what should I check.

That's what I would look at. If it seems to be running fine, then I wouldn't get too extensive on it.

If you haven't already changed your spark plugs it may be a PITA now...search you'll see why it is a good idea to change them or at least check them sooner.

I have the manual. Thats not what I mean. Geez. LOL

I havent had the car that long to know what needs to be looked into. Things that may not be in the manual. Like check your bushings on the sway bars, they tend to go bad, or make sure your this or that is ok.

Of course. That's common sense when it comes to car maintenance.

I guess I was referring to times that you take it to a shop and they try to throw "extra" shit at you to get fixed and there is no need for it.

Not too bad if you know what your doing. Changed mine at 52k miles, still factory plugs. They came out like a charm.

I would change the trans fluid if you havent done that yet. Power steering (ATF) probably wouldn't hurt to change either.

The brake fluid is one fluid that most people ignore. Should be flushed every couple of years.

yeah .02 would be trans fluid whether auto or stick, gets ATF, power steering and it also gets ATF, brake fluid, fuel filter.

you can do manual trans, power steering and brake fluids @ home, and fuel filter with the disconnect tool available @ autozone.

i think you said '07, if so i wouldnt fool with the plugs.

i don't know if we have a cabin air filter or not, but if we do, change it.. it's probably filthy.

i wouldn't fool with the rear diff fluid either, as your clutches will be gone soon if you drive the damn thing anyway, and you'll change that at that time.

if you can get your hands on some BG 44K it wouldn't hurt to dump a can of that into the tank

Ive done all my own services with the exception of Coolant and brake fluid since im only at 37k miles. If it were me I would worry about some of the basics like Fuel filters which seem to get very dirty after 15-20,000 miles in my experience, also cabin/air filters, and spark plugs. After all that, I would start doing other big items, like transmission fluid, coolant, power steering, rear differential, brake fluid.

And the ironic part is.... pretty much all the suggestions that were given are what's listed in the owners manual. But hey, guess it was easier to ask than to put forth the effort of looking
