Thats got to be a heavy motor / trans setup. I'd like the displacement but don't want an iron block or auto.

Looks like a beast. I think one of the design goals was to be physically smaller than the 6.2 for bare chassis/motor home/commercial markets. I would not be surprised if it's roughly the size of a 351W. I think it's also supposed to be low maintenance with high reliability and a low cost of operation.

I see a lot of these in fleets, motor homes and F250/350's tugging campers around. The cost of operation and payback is too high for diesels and this will alleviate that. I bet it will beat the 7.3 diesel on all fronts. And the 7.3 Powerstroke is legendary.

From this picture it has a deep skirted side bolted block, shaft rockers and 2 valves per cylinder. I've also read it has VCT.

Does. I think the piston squirters are on demand.

2 rumors I heard from aftermarket guys today: Ford Racing is developing/adapting a blower, and that this engine can be resized to 500ci.

Wow! I would love to drop a 7.3 in my new edge! I bet with all the leaps with VVT it would get same or better MPG than a 4V 4.6L and definitely make a new edge run 11s fully stock if Ford Racing (Performance) would make a controller kit for it

I'm waiting for bore, stroke and deck height.
