For those of you that have not yet heard, we WON Race 2 on Sunday. Heading into the final green lap we came from 4th to 1st in a wreck that saw some of the top GT cars crash out.

A mustang WON GTS class? Has hell frozen over?

What next, Audi TTRS cars on podium? (knock on wood I hope, lol)

Brilliant work and execution. I've waited a long time to see a mustang come out on top in World Challenge since Paul's regime. Bravo, and I hope to see you guys make it out to more events this year, there's some great races left on the schedule!

Yes, there was quite a bit of attrition in all the Belle Isle races. The temporary road courses make for interesting drives.

The best thing you can do is be smart, and try to stay out of trouble.
We nearly got collected in race 1 on the start, but Dean was able to avoid a wreck directly in front of him.

Congratulations to all involved. This is very impressive, hopefully the SCCA won't make any unnecessary changes to keep cars like this from being competitive (they sure seem to do that in AutoX).

Fair question...

First, the car was built in a week. (literally finished at the track the night before 1st practice)
Second, this was the first major win (NASA aside) in a couple years for Rehagen Racing.
Third, MUSTANGS DON'T WIN WORLD CHALLENGE! <-- Most impressive part
Fourth, This is the first win by a mustang in World Challenge since the passing of Paul Brown.
Fifth, Dean Martin is still considered a "rookie" by SCCA since he has never competed in the series until this event.
Sixth, Dean has not had track time with any of the World Challenge cars at an event prior to this, in the 2013 season.
Seventh, See "Third" again

Just watched the race from the link provided. That was a wreck fest! Dean did do a great job driving, especially on the last lap to avoid the carnage.

Congrats to the entire team on the win!

Perfect list!

You don't typically see the mustangs besting the "sophisticated racing machines" from kia or acura in GTS. These guys busted ass, and executed well for the win. Nice to see two mustang cars on podium! Great work by Dean and the Rehagen organization, there's also some great photos from those races.

On a positive note, I'm almost certain the "parity hammer" isn't going to be coming down hard as a result of this weekend. GTS class as a whole has moved well beyond what the base 302S car is from a performance standpoint, and I think the SCCA/PWC is finally coming to realize that.
