What was that? I couldn't understand you clearly with pacettr's sack in you mouth.
Seriously though, I have not said one single thing that "rag" on the car, except for possibly the only offered colors for the Laguna. I even said I am a buyer depending on price. I was set to buy an '11 premium with brakes and gears untill I pulled the contract on our 08 GT and realized I have untill December/January before we turn the lease back in. It would make a nice daily. However, I would always be open to something more fun instead.
I do rag on people who seem "over estimate" the value of this car (price wise). It would be retarded to price it too closely to the GT500. That is the top of the line, halo car.
I only "attacked" your boyfriend, because he implied that I was stupid, when in all probability, he is in error.
We should get more info this coming weekend. I am ASSuming Ford is reading reaction, and evaluating for potential buyers before they make an announcement on pricing and quantity. If pricing falls where I speculate, it might be hard to pass up the Laguna if they accept plan pricing on them. Although, I if it is too limited it may be to irritating to buy given that the dealers will want ADMs. If the stars don't align, I'll "settle" on a used Porsche Turbo, and part out my toy. ;)

As I figured. You're a cumcatcher looking for a tummy full. How about you take your "toy" and shove it so far up your candyass that it winks at you from the back of your throat when you brush your teeth. Your pissant rants are not welcome nor wanted here. If you showed up just to piss people off by suggesting that you are of a superior intelligence then you have A) succeeded; and you are B) horribly mistaken. Just take the pistol and put it under your chin instead of in your mouth....although I'm sure you love the feel of hard, cylindrical objects in your mouth. Under the chin will assure the world that you won't spread your disease any further.

In 2007 people said the GT500s wouldn't sell below sticker. They eventually did. 2008, same thing. Guess what Jack, they all do.It's just like how some dealers will try to tack on 10k to the sticker, and some will sell the cars all day at MSRP (or below)on ebay. If there are schmucks willing to pay it, they will try to get it. You are one of the most naive people if you don't think you will be able to by one under MSRP at some point.

There are always exceptions. I don't recall a single GT500 sold below MSRP save for a KR at one of the other stores. I only work for the top Ford dealer in my state of residence, though (13+ years), so I'm no expert. No Plan pricing either. Per Ford.

As far as the Roush, Saleen etc, they are a slightly different deal. The Boss will come off of the normal production line.

What's your point? People will pay more for a car than the sum of its parts, regardless of which production line it comes off of.

I think there are several types of buyers in this segment. There will always be some of the "gotta have it crowd". They are not rational when it comes to the purchase, and it is rooted mostly in image. They are the type to pay 10-20k over for sticker, and then cry 2 years later when Ford is still selling the same car, and in far greater numbers than anticipated.

Yep

Also occupying this segment, are the group of individuals who are true enthusiasts. They want the good performing car, and they want bang for the buck. They can justify the purchase of a 50k car (at least to themselves, possibly not their financial planner). These buyers are the ones who will balk at a 50k Laguna. At that price point, it makes way more sense to spend the extra couple grand for a gt500 with the PP, (GT500 with PP is MORE than $50k, and the LS will be a more limited build) or spend less for a basic GT and mod to their taste. Realistically, how many do you REALLY think will see that road course?

You seem to think they ALL will. No need for nav on a track car, remember?

From the reading and videos I have watched, I certainly get the impression that Ford is marketing this car (at least the non laguna) to this group. They SEEM to be angling this car towards the people that are willing to sacrifice some "luxury" items in order to have a pony car that can actually handle well, much like the spirit of the BOSS. No girlie leather, no booming radio, no HIDs, just a basic car with better suspension. :thumb:

Ford is marketing this car to anyone with the capacity to buy one. They don't give a shit if it's a purist who wants to store it in a temperature controlled vacuum or a confused idiot like you who claims it needs to be a pure track car and yet will use it as a daily driver. Hell I would even sell you one if you can afford it. After my order is filled of course
.:hi:

I will say this, you didn't imply my "ASSumptions" were way off base, you came out and said exactly that ;)

I was right on the money as always...:owned2:

I've not seen a GT500 sell around here over MSRP for quite a long time. I'm sure there will be dealer markups on the LS BOSS's but you should be able to get the run of the mill BOSS for sticker without too much problem. Hell, I was able to get my 05 back in early 05 for x plan when most were paying $5k over sticker still for theirs.

FWIW they're bringing MSRP here. I believe some other local dealers are still asking ADM.

Hmm...It looks to me that I already knew that, but thanks for the confirmation. I also know there is no plan pricing on the GT500s.

"I" don't think it needs to be a pure track car. FORD is marketing the car that way. "The closest thing you can get to a racecar with a license plate." Mine wouldn't be purchased with that intention, although I couldn't say I would never take it. I would have no problems daily driving a 2000 Cobra R, save for making a limited model depreciate too much. I daily drove my no ac, no power steering, welded center diff and dumped exhaust Tsi for a long time. I was not the neighborhood favorite.

I wouldn't mind the Laguna costing 10k more if it was warranted. However, it will be the base boss with the Seats, diff, wheels and R compounds. Oh, lets not foget about the CS rear wing and RTR splitter. That doesn't look like 10k worth of stuff to me. Just a small produciton run doesn't make it worth any more to ME.

That's because you're only thinking of you. There are others who thinks it does. Just because it's not worth it to YOU doesn't mean it's not worth it to someone else.

Hence why I said "ME". See above for "ass for every seat" line. :)

When the KRs came out, there were cars listed for over 100k on ebay, and I am sure someone out there payed it. Fast forward and you saw those things rotting in showrooms, eventually being sold under sticker.

Well I'd imagine it is going to be a while before we find out anymore about pricing, so lets put that part to bed for a while and dig it back up when the time comes.

I've never really been a big roadcourse or autocross guy but I've always been in love with the BOSS as some of my first childhood memories involving cars all revolved around my Dad's 69 BOSS 302. He owned 2 or 3 through the years before this one, but it is the only one he owned since I was born. I can just remember staring at the CROSS BOSS intake manifold he had on it while standing on a stool so I was tall enough to look over the fender. That little 302 screamed to 8,000rpm and ran 10.40-10.60 in what was still a full weight car with huge slicks out back.

He sold it back when I was 4 to some guys who restored it and a few years ago I was able to track the same car down through a BOSS 302 owners registry and it is still out there but returned to a much more stock state. That car is THE reason I'm into Mustangs and I am so happy that Ford waited till now to bring the BOSS back. Before the 5.0 returned Ford didn't really have an n/a motor that would do the BOSS name justice.

I only say that because my Boss (70 Boss 302 Cougar Eliminator) was kind of a pig. And by kind of, I mean, it was a pig. I loved it though, and I'm still a huge Boss fan.

.

The BOSS has another public showing this weekend, so hopefully there will be at least a little more info presented.

I really like the Original Boss Mustangs as well, although they were before my time, amd I am very glad it didn't turn out to be a cosmetic package with an FRPP intake and tune on it. That would have been a disgrace.

Now, if only you could get a cloth, decontented GT500 with a back seat delete, things would truly be "right" with the world. Well, at least it would be a little better :)

I want that splitter that's on the LS. I wonder if I can retrofit it onto a GT500 bumper cover?
