I been wanting to buy a full exhaust for a while, and everywhere I ask I keep getting different answer which leading me back to point zero.

I like kooks but I keep getting told they're too expensive and waste of money, SLP and MAC give you same performance for less the money is that true?

What would you choose between the three and why, any help is appreciated.

I have kooks setup and love it, great quality and fitment, it is pricey though. I had mac exhuast on my 01 gt if the mac was out when i was in the market for exhuast i would have got mac longtubes prochamber and axleback. Mac quality isnt as great but still decent and cheaper.

Yes. The rest is just marketing hype, unless you really care about 3 or 4 horsepower here and there.

It's an irrelevant discussion, however, considering Mac headers are nowhere to be found. I've been scouring the planet for a month and they're just not commercially available, and most companies don't think they ever will be. I'd like to use Mac hardware for a lot of reasons, but ended up buying a used (and severely discounted) set of Kooks. Ain't no way I'd pay full price for those unless they came with a full-time hooker that would also install them. Naked.

JMHO.

Thanks for your input, I've been doing some research and if I can order a set of MAC with their prochamber I'm definitely going to do that.

I would not say they're going out of business. I am, however, saying that they have not made S197 headers in a long time and show no signs whatsoever of making any in the future. That's just my view after talking to pretty much every Mustang vendor in the northern hemisphere.

And that sucks.

Maybe it's good news or bad news, but I contact MAC today and asked them about those LT headers they did say they won't start making them again until another 2-3 weeks and they don't expect to send them out for an addition 2 weeks, so we're looking at a 5 week wait for them.

I really would like to wait for them because of their prochambers but I'm debating going with pypes lt headers they've been recommended by brenspeed. Any idea about tem?

They've been saying that for at least six months that I know of, probably more.

Well I don't think I'll be able to wait for MAC so I'm just gonna buy Kooks tomorrow with their O/R x pipe, and SLP LM.

Have a question tho, as far as the lt/xpipe installation I got a general idea, just need some clarification how I'm gonna install the SLP, am I gonna have to do any cutting or use any stock pipes to connect SLP to the xpipe?

Yeah there are stock over axle pipes that will go from just down stream of the kooks x-pipe to meet up with the slp axlebacks. No cutting needed. Thats gonna sound wicked. I had the off road x as well it was to loud for me and i had some pypes highflow cats welded in. That was with some bullet style blow through mufflers similar to the loudmouth muff/resonators.

Wouldn't ya know it, the day after I gave up waiting for Mac and bought a used set of Kooks headers, someone was selling a full Mac exhaust on another forum. I bought that too, so if anyone wants a set of Kooks, see here.

only headers I would run are Kook's which I run and ARH the key is getting a stainless steel header so there is no rust. The JBA's get surface rust though. I have a set of KOOK's that were JET HOT coated and they look and are sweet
