If you retarded them 6* wouldn't that mean they were ground on a 112 ICL if you're getting 118? My turbo cams were ground at a 114.5 ICL.

My scanner is on the fritz but here is the info for my 127550 cams (BNIB). I plan to install them locked out and retarded 6 or 8 degrees, depending on what lito recommends:

Thanks for posting that. Its been a while since I degreed cams. I would assume I'm just looking at the wheel wrong both banks are exactly the same that would be the important thing.

You are very welcome. I'm still wondering if it is absolutely necessary to degree my 127550s when I install them. It would be nice if I can set the TFS crank gears to 6 or 8 degrees retard and go...

I ran these cams strait up without degreeing them for the last year and a half. As I found out yesterday, both cams are the same. This is not always the case with aftermarket cams though. I think the fact that they are not custom grinds helps, but you will not know unless you do it. If you want to do 6 degrees, then wait to see how it works for my car if you trust that Comp sent you a perfectly matched set of cams. I think degreeing the cams is more of a "get everything out of it" thing.

Here are some pics of the valve seat and valve grind. They are only cell phone pics but you will get the idea.

Here is a shot of the intake on the left with the new seat and the stock or old on on the right.

Here is one of the valves seats the way they where and you can see they don't seat evenly.

Here is one of the new seats that are even.

Here are a couple picks of the valves, even though they are not the best pics. The waviness is not really there. You can see how they have two different edges now. One is for flow and the other is for the seat.

That's it for now. I will update on the degreeing issue when I get home this weekend and recheck it. I think my numbers where wrong and I should be around 108 centerline once I recheck it.

Thanks!

I found out today that the intake pipes, valve covers, and JPC intake are done at Polydyn. I am nervous to see how the polished ceramic coating turned out on the valve covers and JPC intake. They had to do they JPC intake two times to get it perfect, so we will see. I am going to pick them up in Houston on my way home from San Antonio on Friday. Its 45 mins out of the way but it will save shipping a large box, me waiting, and human error along the way to my house. I have a feeling after seeing them, I will want my headers redone... Not going to happen though, its time to get back to the track!

I know what you mean. We are at No Problem Raceway now and start some testing tomorrow. Feels good to be racing again. Now all I need is some time to work on my car when I get home... lol

Still coming up with 118 center line! Everything I can find shows I am doing the crank gears correctly, so IDK. I will look more into it tomorrow.

What is the centerline on a 127550 locked full advanced? That should be different from the cam card no?

Full advanced is 102 centerline. Is there any chance you are off by a tooth on the phasers? Are both sides coming up at 118?

Yes, both sides exactly the same.

.50" before max intake lift

.50" after max intake lift

If I installed my lockouts full advanced what would be the stock centerline for the same cams? How much movement is there in the VCT?
