If you are going to back to mls gaskets, you can use aluminum devcon in the o ring grooves. The cte is similar to the block.

Ive been researching this today. Seems some use this stuff, some mill the SS wire and mill it flat with the block, and some use a copper wire instead of the SS and run MLS gaskets with the copper wire. Im thinking of using the milling of the wire method.

Next issue is I am going to raise the C/R a little more when I go from a .043 copper gasket to the Ford .036 gasket.

I am going to have to pull the motor. #8 is full of water to the top of the threads for the plug. Compression test shows 170 on all 8 cylinders though with the water blown out of the cylinder.

Broke dafuk down
Can you still go back and o-ring the heads too? The BHJ tool is freggin expensive but that was the only way I was going to do it. My machinist refused to touch my block with the other tool. Only problem is then you have to trust that will do the trick.

Probably best to just grab a new block and ditch the o-rings all together. I have vacation to burn. Obviously you know what you are doing but I could come down and lend a hand to speed things up

Even though I have Masons .030 over block sitting in the garage, I have decided I have to much time and work in mine to do it again. I am going fast track on this and after lots of research today it seems that decking the ss rings back to the original deck is the way to go. I will have the block out tomorrow night and have it at the machine shop on Tuesday morning. I can have it back in my hands on Friday and build it Saturday and back in the car on Sunday. I have done this once before and as long as no real changes are made it is doable. Only change I am making is the MLS gaskets and ss rings that I already have in the garage. The tune is on point so, this is the time for ss rings.

Thanks, its a 8 second car with the 5.78 pull. I just hope the low mph was because of the bad cylinder. Either way the car was faster then anything I have ever been in, that is fact. I will be back at a track on March 13th or 14th in preps for the TX2K the next weekend. This car cannot mist that event! I am going either way but, I need my car there, this is what I built it for. Street cars racing stupid fast at a track! It makes me want to put the 20" DRs back on and hit those Friday night races running mid to low 9s on the 20s and watch as the bets fly... :thumb2:

Been following your build for some time love your setup, wish my car ran 5.78 In the 1/8th with 8 cylinders lol. That's fast for 7 cylinders, might need some nitrous to get me there with this 2.8kb.

Got all the top stuff off the motor and will roll the car out of the hauler tomorrow and get the bottom side done and pull the motor. I talked to my machine shop and he told me if I get it to him by the end of the day on Wednesday he will get it ready for me by the end of the day on Friday. :thumb2:

Damn Billy, you are the man. Most mortals would have burned it to the ground long ago.

Keep at it. When you get that beast sorted it will be epic!!!
