Soaking Up The Knowledge
That is sick man, great job.
they didn't have the scales open today but i'm guesstimating it's 150lbs. heavier now. before was 3320 stripped 3470 in street trim w\o driverdid you get a chance to weight it before pulling the weight out? Your definately off to a good start nonetheless!
actually my guess was 11.33 @ 119 first pass but since i didn't setup the chassis or try to launch the thing i should have backed off a bitDamn man your guestimates were right on the money... definitely 10's in the future!
no worries. once i fix the front seal i'll be back at the track for more testing and do some more videos. i'll send them to you directly.Man I wish I could watch those videos... the browser locks up at home with photobucket, and it's blocked at work.
still have the stock 5r55s trans with custom built TCI converter.Couple quick Q's:
What auto transmission are you using with this setup?
Are you able to pull the valve covers off with the engine in place?
Btw, very nice build!!!

yes the valve covers will come off and in fact i can even adjust the valves which i had to do a couple weeks ago. it's not easy but it does fit pretty well.
quick question:
i have a trans hose loose. looks like a vent possibly. it's located on the top of the trans and looks like it has a plastic connector broken off inside the rubber hose. one side hooks somewhere on the top of the trans in the back but can't tell where the other side is supposed to hook. maybe in the front on the top.
anyone know what this actually is or where it goes. i'm getting some trans fluid spewing out after runs.
yep already made a breather tank and mounted it. just need to jack it up and run the line up to the tank.Great runs at the track you should be in the ten's soon. What is your CR on the engine? That hose is the overflow for the trans. I pulled mine out and made my own overflow out of a hydraulic fluid plastic bottle and 3ft. of trans hose.
I'm also running E85 just bolt on's for now stock engine auto and 125shot.
N/A 299HP/318TQ ,on the bottle 390HP/440TQ .

compression ratio is approx 12:1 it's definitely between 11.8:1 and 12.4:1
gotta bend up a roll bar this week and get it installed. i doubt if i can get away with running close to 10's too many times. some of our tracks around here are a little picky.
Matt D did you get in the 11's yet. just wondering have you tried running it once without a belt altogether. you can get one maybe two passes. i picked up almost a tenth over the short belt by ditching it altogether.
Ron are you running 1 3/4 long tubes? or 1 5/8?
Im starting to make a list of crap for my na build. Im ready to buy new 1 3/4 kooks headers ( Im using the kooks 1 5/8 now)
