I've been following this thread and all I can say is, "Very impressive". If your launching the car that easy, imagine if you are able launch at I higher rpm. What was your 60 ft. time ?

they didn't have the scales open today but i'm guesstimating it's 150lbs. heavier now. before was 3320 stripped 3470 in street trim w\o driver
i'm 220lbs.
so i'm thinking at least 3800in street trim 3700 mildly stripped
60' wasonly 1.61 best today. it should be low 1.50's
i have no doubts it will run 10's now. just a matter of dialing in and tweaking the little things IAT, chassis setup etc....oh and dropping the exhaust :)

Man I wish I could watch those videos... the browser locks up at home with photobucket, and it's blocked at work.

Couple quick Q's:
What auto transmission are you using with this setup?
Are you able to pull the valve covers off with the engine in place?

Btw, very nice build!!!

still have the stock 5r55s trans with custom built TCI converter.
yes the valve covers will come off and in fact i can even adjust the valves which i had to do a couple weeks ago. it's not easy but it does fit pretty well.
quick question:
i have a trans hose loose. looks like a vent possibly. it's located on the top of the trans and looks like it has a plastic connector broken off inside the rubber hose. one side hooks somewhere on the top of the trans in the back but can't tell where the other side is supposed to hook. maybe in the front on the top.
anyone know what this actually is or where it goes. i'm getting some trans fluid spewing out after runs.

I think I may have found out what it is. I looked in the Ford service manual under the 5r55s section, and in the diagram, there's a hose pictured on top of the transmission called "case vent assembly". My best guess is that it is a vent to relieve the transmission of pressure so fluid does not spew out. The rear of it appears to attach to some sort of tab. I found the part number(7034#) and tried to find where to buy a replacement, but luck was not on my side. :(

Here's a screen shot of the diagram I was describing. I circled the tab and pointed an arrow towards the hose so you can easily see what I'm talking about.

Great runs at the track you should be in the ten's soon. What is your CR on the engine? That hose is the overflow for the trans. I pulled mine out and made my own overflow out of a hydraulic fluid plastic bottle and 3ft. of trans hose.

I'm also running E85 just bolt on's for now stock engine auto and 125shot.
N/A 299HP/318TQ ,on the bottle 390HP/440TQ .

yep already made a breather tank and mounted it. just need to jack it up and run the line up to the tank.
compression ratio is approx 12:1 it's definitely between 11.8:1 and 12.4:1
gotta bend up a roll bar this week and get it installed. i doubt if i can get away with running close to 10's too many times. some of our tracks around here are a little picky.
Matt D did you get in the 11's yet. just wondering have you tried running it once without a belt altogether. you can get one maybe two passes. i picked up almost a tenth over the short belt by ditching it altogether.

Back in the spring when i was going 12.15-12.18 at milan I took the belt off and ran 12.04. Since then I just did the shorter belt and never have taken it off since... I will next time out though. Im so dam close man.... Im running a full exhaust too

Last time out I ran 12.0's like nine times back to back.. 12.01 @ 113mph best to date. I got a 1.58 sixty foot

I ran 1 5/8 on my car, and did untill about a month ago switching to the 1 3/4 kooks with 3" h pipe. It sounds amazing but i dont think it would be worth anything on a NA car. It could even hurt you...
