Smoke after breathers installed normal?

I decided to stop by autozone before coming home and found this:

It's a PCV elbow Dorman 47035 which will allow me to use the 1" port on the throttle body elbow on the Paxton and connect the passenger side pcv hose it.

I'll have to go back to a closed system until I finish modding the driver side cam cover for the pcv removal.

There is no valve in it, just a rubber elbow.

Even when I had the previous setup where both the pass. and driver where connected to the breather can I got oil seeping out. The driver side PCV just not opening and everything coming out of the pass. side just didn't seem like a good idea.

Once again, in order to run an open breather setup, you have to fully disable the factory PCV system altogether by capping off both the vacuum port to the intake manifold and throttle body air intake tube elbow..

By just capping off the PCV vacuum side and running a passenger side hose from the air intake elbow to the valve cover won't accomplish anything as once you cap off the vacuum port on the driver's side, the passenger side will no longer be able to pull in air without vacuum from the PCV system being open..

I'll have to go back to a closed system until I finish modding the driver side cam cover for the pcv removal.

Until you finish modding for the PCV removal, just stick with the factory PCV closed system just the way it is and if I were you, I would follow Lito's advice when he says " Don't do that"

You can't run a closed system where you will cover the maf sensor with oil (no matter what you filter it thru, it'll get oil) need to keep it open.

And the reason for oil seeping out, is due from disabling the PCV system without removing the PCV valve first.. Therefore oil had no where else to go but through the passenger side because the PCV valve on the driver's side cam cover is no longer able to open through vacuum once it's been capped off..

If you removed the PCV valve, then yes, you're good to go

Technically no, since the driver side still has a PCV built-in the cam cover. That's what needs to be removed in order to have a successful breather setup is what I'm gathering.

I went back to a "closed" system back to the factory PCV settings but Lito is suggesting that's worse than what I previously had, so I'm back to square one.

I believe you misinterpreted what Lito said.. If I understood his post accurately, he doesn't recommend running a hose to your passenger side cam cover via the intake elbow tube while having the driver's side PCV line capped off and closed which is pretty much what I also said as well..

Oh I'm not running the driver side capped off. It's back to the factory setup. The driver side PCV is connected back to the manifold at the moment.

Then you should be just fine until you finish removing the PCV valve.. Just don't install any breathers with the factory PCV setup still connected..

By just capping off the ports without first removing the PCV valve, your only relieving pressure from the passenger side with breathers.. Until the PCV valve is removed, you only have one port vented because the PCV valve cannot open if it's capped off.. The PCV valve relies on vacuum from the intake manifold in order for it to open..
