So since I have it off the car, I figure I will send it out to get rebuilt. Vortech/ Paxton wants $700 for the rebuild. Superchargerrebuild.com wants 550 with the best available bearings, but also has a bit of bum history. (link below) I dont think Stiegmeier deals with centri style blowers, and even if they did, I wouldnt trust them. Are there other options available besides rebuilding it myself? Or should I just bite the bullet and go with Vortech so I have them to fall back on?

Well IMO I would go with Vortech, you get that warranty with the rebuild. On the other hand I used Supercharger rebuild for parts and rebuilt my own blower. I converted it from a V3 to a V2 style with engine fed oil. I then used the brass caged bearing upgrade since the plastic caged ones break apart from heat and turn your blower into whats left below.

If you have a V3, upgrade the bearings, that 4oz of self lubrication don't play well on the 1/4 mile when your spinning it harder than normal.

Parts ready to put together.

Vortech will only rebuild it to original specs, Superchargerrebuild.com will upgrade parts or you can buy parts and upgrade yourself. In the end if your using the blower within it's original limits, I would have Vortech rebuild it, if your really stretching the envelope, upgrade to something bigger for reliable duty.

I would just send it to vortech. They rebuild my Ysi, no issues and was quick and easy to deal with.

If you ar doing it yourself, you could also upgrade to ceramic bearings as well. If your not comfortable with doing it yourself, I would send it to the manufacturer. I have had two good exchanges with the rebuild.com place, but I only bought parts from them. Good luck.

I have a paxton 1500 head unit. According to Vortech, theres no impeller upgrade available through them. I am not really pushing it either, maxing out at 12 lbs of boost on a stock blower pulley with an 18% OD crank pulley.
