good choice! i never really understood the guys that went from built and or blown 3v cars to 5.0 cars. IMO the 5.0 is a great alternative to the 4.6 if you want boost, but its just not in the cards for one reason or another, tired of the headaches of a heavily modified car, or realizing a modded car just isnt practical for their needs.

The F1 would be awesome. I think there is a version ATI can put together that will work with the P1/D1 bracket. Maybe that is the F1a?

I thought I had to buy a new bracket for mine. I will look back and see.

I think it all depends on the setup. Back before I decided to go twin turbo on the 5.4L 3v, James Eckerd was trying to put together a kit for my car. It was going to be half F150 kit (blower, bracket, belt/pulleys, etc...) half Mustang kit (intercooler and piping). We were going to go with some variant of the F1.... something that would fit on the P1/D1 F150 bracket, as they hadn't done an F1 on a 5.4L 3v at the time. IIRC, the back half was a D1 housing, and the volute was the F1. Can't remember what they called it. I thought it was an F1a, but I could be wrong....

I went back and looked and I did have to replace the mounting bracket when I did my upgrade.

I just dont know if i would have to go to air to water due to the damn heat the f1 makes

Air to Air with meth on wich ever blower you go with. Dont use the meth for more power with 93 but just for cooling. It works great.

Where do they place the nozzles on a procharger kit and whats the mix for just using it for its cooling properties

I use a 30/70 meth to water mix. I also have a dual nozzle setup now but a single will be plenty fine for your current goals.

Same thing happened to me. I was on the fence and went and test drove a 5.0 and wasn't impressed enough to start over.. At this point I have no regrets.

Good for you flanagan.

Great choice! Good luck.

Looks like another 3v'r FTW

Hay OP why dont you just pick a rwhp like 500 that is safe and start lighting up your car . I think someone else said that all that hp on the street is over kill and he is wright . My car has 440 rwhp and I stick like crazy with f1's and just piss off the fast cars because they either can't beat me because all they do is spin or they can't get away . So you must want a new car .

I have and will always say the most fun I ever had with my car was at 550 rwhp on the street. That being said it is a whole different feeling at 700 rwhp pulling a S/C C6 on the road, or at the track for that matter! Lets face it, RWHP is what makes the hands shake after a pull and what makes it worth spending the money we do to go fast and push ourselves to the level we want to be at. That being said , everyone has that goal or that thing to them that makes it worth it to them. For you it is pulling that big HP car from a dig on the street, for others it is the pull on someone at the track, others it is that win on a highway run in Mexico. Then there is another group that just cant get enough HP and speed, this is where I most likley will feel at home. I want more all the time and wont be happy till well, I am. JMO

I'll be honest, my car terrifies me at times. I've done everything I know to make it as streetable as possible, but it still gets out from under me pretty easily. To be honest, I kinda wish I had not gone with 13psi springs for my wastegates. I think you should really consider your goals for the car and go from there.

I kinda know what you mean. The most gentle WOT I have right now is 688 rwhp LOL. That can get stupid really fast on the street! But, man what a ride it can be!!!

Yeah, I guess I should've stated that the terror is balanced out by the thrill. :)
