why are the gains with hot rod cams so inconsistent?

I have Hot Rods, delete plates, udp, frpp cai, short tubes with high flows,410 gear, and aluminum ds. I made 342 to the wheels. I'm going with FRPP new intake, heads and tb. I hope to see @ 380 or 390 to the wheels, what do you think I will see?

Like others have stated the Horsepower to Dollar ratio isnt there for heads, your setup and where you want to be. $3k for heads plus another $1k for the install and your in FI territory. There is an article in either this months 5.0 magazine or MM&FF about a FI car and adding the HR's. Not a big gain at all. They stated Ford was going to release a set of HR's for FI but it never happened and I wonder why. Im not knocking the HR's at all but if there was a big gain, we would have another install job lined up at someones home to install them on my car. TB the same thing, unless your moving some air, funds can be spent somewhere else. In the end its your ride and you have to make that decision. I use Pauls Car (Psfracer) as an example quit a bit to explain things. Here ya go and i think this was pre- ST intake etc... Stock heads and Cams

You will be near where I was before I added Nitrous ... I was 383/352 on last tune. Good thing is my best friend is Certified Mechanic and labor was FREE on EVERYTHING .. all I did was buy everything and helped with install.. with nitrous I think i'm near 500 b/c it is 125 shot but have yet to spray just purge money out the nozzles.... if you want pics of my set up i can show you.

I have
throttle body, frpp intake, heads, frpp cam, head springs and valves, electric water pump, long tubes, aluminum ds, aluminum flywheel, clutch, 3.73 gears, true detroit lock, better radiator, t-stat therm, off-road h-pipe, under drive pullies, jlt intake, pa altnerator,

If I could go back it would be cheaper just to buy a blower and don't even get detroit rockers, hot rods, or Mutha thumprs. If you have to pay labor you already half way there for a blower ... think about it you buy the cam 700, phasers if it require 200, or bolts 25 , then you pay labor 500 to 700 then tune. then tune. you at least 1500 right there ... I think it was ebay or breenspeed I saw some blowers for 3300

I feel like I picked up more than 5hp after hr. All i got is Mac axle back, jlt2 cai and frpp hr, and the bbr 93 oct tune to match. My car feel alot better in mid range rpm. FYI I don't have delete plates, I would hope I am near the 300 rwhp area???

How much gain on average does one pick up with jlt2 and Mac axle back, and the hr with bbr 93 tune to match? 10+
