My observations, at wot the wot box is seeing 3.9 tps voltage. The 2-step and no lift have a tps threshold of 3.0 volts. So i should increase the tps voltage thresholds to like 4.0 or something right?

No, it all looks good actually! You want the tps threshold lower than your max tps voltage. What that's doing it engaging the 2 step at 3 volts.... Which is good/normal.


At this point I would be checking the black/red wire that goes to the front fuse box, that kills the power to the coils. There is 2 wires coming out of one spot that BOTH have to be cut and connected to the wotbox red/black wire. It almost sounds like maybe you only cut one of these wires and it's allowing the other wire to still pass voltage to the other set of coils like normal??

Yeah, that makes sense. I remember having to cut both wires for the GT, but I will check it out.

Another thought, so it wouldn't hurt to lower the tps threshold a little. I wonder if the tps voltage changes by rpm at wot? Ie. you go to wot at the voltage shoots up then as rpm raises as you hold the gas, the voltage changes. I will try to take readings with the software at different times while holding the throttle to see if it changes.

Lowering the tps threshold just sets the two step off earlier in the pedal travel, shouldn't hurt to experiment.

Interesting, i modified the brushes in my gas pedal awhile ago, i physicaly bent the brushes to come in contact with the circuit board sooner, my pedal see's wot at about 75% of the way down.

some part throttle wot shifting doesnt sound like such a bad idea lol since in 1st and second i cant go wot anyway with street tires.

You could try that, I wouldn't want you to be at a stop light on the two-step by accident though

I placed them at the top^ center section of the console and below the center section of the vents (I know the description sucks but was able to press that in the space between them). No one would notice they were there when not illuminated but was easily in your line of sight looking straight ahead while running down the 1/4 mile.

This is a hilarious coincidence. Right after I posted, I dug through my box of random LEDs and I found a red LED strip I had and came up with the exact same idea--your description is way better than how I would have described it

I just went to radioshack and bought a superbrite LED and stuck it in the corner of my cluster where all you can see is the little nub of the LED sticking up. Lights up the whole cluster, nice and discreet otherwise

I use a Raptor warning light, which is 7 LEDs in one unit. Don't confuse that with their shift light... the warning light has no built-in logic and is just on the end of two wires. It's easy to splice into a serial cable. I think I left instructions in this thread last year. Suuuuuper bright, and blue, so it matched my MyColor.

Yeah, but I don't really care about money. Being an adult sure is fun.

FWIW, I also made a 99 cents Radio Shack special. It didn't look good. I like the look of the black aluminum housing.
