Also keep in mind this Roush is a limited production model of only 60 cars, it's not your typical Shelby that there will thousands of. There is something to be said about that from a collector standpoint.

In my case I have a Silver w Red Stripe 427r. I believe Roush only built 5 in that scheme in 2010, 2 Automatic Coupes, 2 Manual Coupes , and a Convertible. I've personally never seen another one like it. How many Silver with Red Stripe Mustangs do you even see? I've only ever seen 1 and that was a Boss 302LS in the silver red scheme with the red wheels, IMO those looked absolutely sweet!!! I think the silver with red is an awesome color combo and I'm surprised you don't see more cars in that color.
When I go to car shows I generally win a trophy over any Shelby's, and I actually took 1st place in my class at a Shelby Club show, and I believe that is because of the uniqueness of the car. Same be said for the Jack Roush model.

Again, I'm not knocking the Roush, I certainly would love to have one, just if I had the choice I would prefer the GT500

3v vs coyote, not even the same playing field. New gt500 gets over 20 on the highway, know a few people who actually own them. Not lame magazine articles.

Who mentioned a 3V? Or are you so lame, you can't help by throw out the anti-3V rhetoric with every post?

I completely understand, And I'm not knocking Shelby's either, if the price was right I'd buy one as well, and in a couple years I might. Just pointing out a couple differences. Bought my Roush because the price was right too, I looked at Shelby's but got a better deal on my Roush at the time.

Try reading jackass, he owns a 2010 which is a 3v.

Yet, "jackass," you were the only one drawing a 3v vs Coyote comparison -- continuing the tired old BS you see kids in Mustang FB groups use. And, in this case, it didn't even fit into the context of the conversation.

The GT500 averages 14 mpg on the highway, 2-3 mpg on track, no way your getting 20mpg out of it. Boost that to 1000hp and those numbers get even lower. You better have stock in an oil company.
I only average 18 mpg on my 2010 Roush and that's only 390hp at the rear.

Stang, I guess you didn't see this post. He brought up his 2010 Roush's mileage which is a 3v. Again read the entire thread before you open your mouth.

I knew exactly what you were referencing, Captain Obvious. Still didn't justify your BS

Yes it did, you cant compare a 3v to a coyote, or a coyote to a roadrunner, or a roadrunner to a voodoo. They are all different animals. Mind you we are talking about mpg's here.

My cruddy, underpowered 3v car gets 11 miles to the gallon!

So does my truck!

If I ride my bike I eat enough food that it costs me the same as if I were driving!

11, 11, 11, 11

Who cares

I'm glad people are still buying all of these ridiculous cars, my favorite post in here was how 500 hp is getting cheap and accessible. I hope the kids can learn how to drive. I got weaned on 225, 250 tops, was enough to get me close to death a handful of times. I suppose brakes are better now, but still.

I used my Roush as a comparison as there is not as much difference between my 2010 and the new GT500, compared to my 2010 to say a 69' Roadrunner. Cars since the mid 70's are supposedly built for better MPG, 60's muscle cars mpg was not a factor and not even in the equation.
There is no way in hell you would ever convince me the new GT500 at 750+hp gets better mileage than my 2010 450hp car, unless it's rolling downhill the whole 20 miles.

I dont need to convince anyone, proof is in the calculated mpg's. Free'r flowing heads and intake will always increase mpg's. Ive seen roadrunner engines get over 30 mpg on highway trips, my car has never gotten better than 23. IMO i cant compare my car to a boss, 2 different engines.

Cheap? Define cheap. I would say it still cost's a lot of money for the hp. It is very accessible though.
Example: One of the popular upgrades on current Mustangs is a supercharger. Since on this thread we are talking 750+hp cars and not 500hp, the Stage 2 750hp Roush SC for my 2018 GT is $7999 + 10 hrs installation time. Think most shops(In my area) avg. about $120 per hr now, so that's $9200 for 290hp increase, $31.72 per 1hp. I did a 30hp upgrade on my 2010 Roush that cost me $1100, $36.66 per 1hp.

We were talking about the GT500 and your claiming they get 20mpg, ^^ you're changing the scenario....

This is what i said in reference to the GT500's. Not everyone is going to be out there flogging the shit out of them. Some people like to buy them as a collectors piece or a nice weekend cruiser.

I will never believe they get 20 mpg unless I can see it in front of me. As I stated previously factory sticker says 14 avg. 12 city 18 hwy. How many high hp cars do you know of in recent years that get better mileage than the factory claims? I can't recall even one.

You cant be serious....... a lot of cars get better mpg's than stated. The ones who make outrageous claims are the ones that fall short. 2019 Audi RS3 claims 19 city / 28 highway. My rental that i had for 2 weeks average 34 mixed. I drove it the same way i drive my GTI. My GTI gets almost 38 mpg on the highway, claims 31 mpg. Its all about how you drive it.

Same here. Handing an 18 year old kid the keys to a 88 foxbody was like handing them a loaded gun with no supervision. Eventually someone would get hurt. Today's most base Mustang will eat a stock 5.0 Foxbody alive and beat it at every metric you can claim, except curb weight.

^I said high hp cars, not a VW Beetle! Have one of your friends you say have the new GT 500 post a pic on here of it's mpg showing over 20 will make me believe it.

And to think I started driving in a 1950 Ford 1 ton truck. Only way I was getting hurt in that was off road!

At hardly more than half the HP that the Roush and the new GT500 are claiming, the number of valves is just noise when it comes to mpg.
