MACH 1 is back!!!

But not the GT 500, every dealer around me is still $10-20k over sticker.

Local dealer is $35k over sticker and people from all over Canada are buying from them as the Eastern dealers are asking 50+ over sticker. Just crazy.

The 5.0 DOHC is so smooth it wouldn't shake.

It's so quiet you also would barely hear it in the cabin. I mean, it's not like Ford would devise some tricky thingy to augment the sights and sounds, would they?

Just before this covid thing I called a dealer near me on one they had coming in and he told me he had a list of people interested in it. Sticker is $79,890, dealer is asking $94,890 Asked me if I was interested and I told him not at that price. Told him if he sits on it a while to call me. They now have had it on their lot for 2 months and it's not been sold, so much for his waiting list.

Dealer here in city where I live still has a 2018 GT350 he's not sold as his price is too high.

The styling is a little subtle and it's a bit too refined. I would have liked more aggressive graphics that really shout Mach 1, 100hp per liter, a Shaker hood, and a meaty throaty soundtrack from the engine.
It's nevertheless a great looking car that has many desirable features, and should be a potent track weapon, but the traditionalist in me would still yearn for the '69 version simply because of the raw driving experience, because it just looks so damn cool, and because you can have fun without driving at illegal speeds.
Whatever your taste it's a win win either way.

This will surprise quite a few people but the active exhaust on my 2018 in track mode is louder than the Roush off-road exhaust on my 2010 Roush 427R.

The 2005-2009 S197 was the PERFECT car to offer a Mach 1 package with and Ford missed it.

Ford could have tuned up a 335 hp 4.6 3V put a shaker on top with a graphics package and put together a simple drag-pack option with 4.10 gears and sold a crap ton of them.

That is what Roush did similarly with the 2007 427r Drag Pak. But they were limited production of 50 cars as was the Trak Pak.

Heck, your car would make a better Mach tribute car. That convertible just does not have the right lines to even come close. A bullit wheel would have worked much better too.

I've never been able to find any proof of it, but I think Ford was going to do a Mach 1 on the 05-09 cars. I had the door panel off my '05 GT back when I had it and on the inside it had a sticker about 3"x1" and printed on it it said MACH.

I think the CDC chin spoiler and shaker system and the Silver Horse Racing honeycomb taillight panel were part of a cancelled Mach 1 trim package.

Heck, your car would make a better Mach tribute car. That convertible just does not have the right lines to even come close. A bullit wheel would have worked much better too.

Bullit wheels were never use don the Mach 1. But a modern Magnum 500 would be on target.

The S550 styling never really grew on me until now. Ford nailed it with this new Mach. Looks like a cross between an s197 and a 550 to me. Especially love the front. Not to mention the powertrain. I'm getting one.
