What's your ride height?

It’s stock, whatever that is.

Pic of the car?
I don’t have a pic other than what I’ve already posted. I’m in the hospital at the moment. I can’t go out and get one right now.
I can't see how the left side can stick out when the furthest the axle can go to the left is when the PHB is parallel to the ground (where the stock PHB length will not cause it to stick out of the left side of the car).
I didn’t say the stock panhard bar is the cause. I’m just hoping an adjustable will be the solution.

I do believe as Norm said, that it’s been off a little since I’ve owned the car. I’ve never scrutinized it closely until now.

If the pedestal got tweaked during the incident, I can’t see with eyes alone. I would need a measuring point, and a reference measurement to know for sure.

Ford couldn’t find any damage, but that means little to nothing. If I owned a lift, I could inspect more thoroughly, but I’d still need a reference to compare to.

I assure you I’m not hellbent to have an adjustable bar. I jus see no other way to get the job done at the moment, weather you can see it or not. Performance isn’t my concern right now, I just want it back to center.

That amounts to about 3/8" or 10mm at the PHB's chassis-side pivot, to try to put a number on it.

Yep, that’s what I guessed too.

Post a pic of the poke and tuck of the rear tires when you get a chance.

An adjustable PHB will help but there must be something else going on. Those pedestals are hard to bend so I doubt its that.

My 2010 GT had the driver's rear tire sticking out 3/8".... and that was before it was lowered.... and noticeable with the wider rears. Same deal with a local buddy's (new at the time) 2012. I started looking carefully at a bunch of the mustang car shows....and most of em were sticking out at least a 1/4" on the LR. (05-14 cars).

Grasping at straws dep't . . . are both rear wheels the same width and offset?

Norm

Yes all same sizes since new. 4 sets of tires and many rotations since new (relevance is, I would have been told about different wheel sizes).

Also, I don’t think the chassis pedestal could be bent in that direction without buckling the Panhard Bar Brace. It’s much more flimsy and isn’t distorted at all. I think it must have already been this way, and I’m only noticing it now.

Came home from hospital today and found my problem was resolved.

My Daughter picked up the FRPP Adjustable PHB that I ordered, and installed/adjusted it for me herself as a surprise. :)

Wheels are looking good now…. All centered up.

Glad you got all resolved!

Thanks for pointing me to this particular bar.

I had the car in the shop this morning for some minor tweaking of the axle-backs after the incident, and I got a chance to look at her work, and look at the part. I had the shop go over and check to make sure the bolts were torqued properly. They were, so now I can put the whole issue to bed.

The Ford Racing Adj PHB is the only adj PHB available that is specifically DESIGNED to provide adequate clearance when using non-OEM Ford 8.8" diff covers (specifically the Ford Racing parts...like your Track Pack finned diff cover or my Girdle) mounted in the S197's OEM PHB brackets so no relocation brackets required....but it ain't cheap (actual cost @ $252.49 + tax from CJ Pony Parts) cause it's made from chrome moly steel (allows the PHB shaft to be smaller dia to provide extra clearance & reduce mass but not sacrifice rigidity\strength to hold up under actual hi load racing conditions).
Late thank-you for this parts recommendation. I will be running a finned aluminum diff cover marked as part number DR3W-4A028-CB, which appears to be identical to Ford Performance's part number M-4033-KA.

Late thank you to you as well, for starting this topic in the first place. Gonna cost me some money I wasn't expecting to have to, but at least I'll be doing it up right (finned aluminum diff cover).

Thanks.

Why the need for a finned aluminum cover.

HPDE, keeps the diff cooler, and the axle vent gets moved to the top center of the cover. Then you can plug the the vent on the axle tube. No more puking gear oil from lateral G's. No need for plumbing or catch can, simple solution to a few problems.
Precisely. The axle tube vent and the cover's plug have already switched places (but haven't been fully tightened yet).

Plus the ability to change the fluid without having to remove and replace the cover or try to squeeze fluid a few ounces at a time through the same hole that it will come back out of.

I'd already bought the cover a while ago but the job it was mainly associated with went on indefinite hold for a number of reasons. I've been out of active HPDE for a couple of years now (health issues) but am hoping to get back into it, if at a less serious pace. Either way, the finned cover is going on the car and any help it can provide for overly enthusiastic passes through any of my unofficial "test loops" will be greatly appreciated. At least I found the little packet of cover bolts this morning.

Feels good to get my little mod project underway again (Torsen, 3.73s, cover, revised rear ride height).

Now you got me rethinking this since I'm planning to upgrade my rear gears\diff soon to get the Ford Performance finned diff cover to replace my existing Ford Performance 8.8" Girdle since I'll be using Moser 8.8" bearing cap studs along w\ the Eaton Tru-Trac diff. Will also render my JLT rear axle catch can unnecessary (bought\installed this due to my axle spitting out gear oil during 1 of the dyno sessions where we ran multiple back to back hits testing other items....got the gear oil hot enough that it spit out the axle vent). This will clean up all this underneath the car as then just simply move the axle vent to the finned cover & plug the axle vent hole in axle tube..... This aspect never crossed my mind.....until now.

Wished Ford would've incorporated this provision to install the axle vent in the Girdle cover......

I like the advent of the extra diff air cooling capacity from the fins as well. A much better, cleaner overall setup for a mostly street cruiser w\ some potential light canyon\track use (corner carving).......

Looks like I'm gonna be giving CJ Pony Parts some more money......

Drag racing heavily influenced my early decision making when I bought my Stang but I'm slowly recovering......

Is this the one you guys are upgrading to, or are you upgrading to something else?

https://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-pe...ith-cooler-ports-mustang-1986-2014/p/M4033KA/

My car came stock with this one. The advertisement mentions the accommodation for a oil cooler, temp sensor, drain/fill, but it doesn’t mention vent location.
Thats the same cover I have. (The bolts cost more than the cover lol)
You can see the boss for the vent just to the right of the upper fill plug. For a cooler, you remove both plugs and install fittings.
I got grade 8 bolts and washers locally, (under 10 bucks) and the cover for $62.
I just moved the vent from the axle tube to the cover and found a bolt that threaded into the axle tube to plug the hole.

Looking at the pic I thought that it might be that boss, but not sure. I’ve never closely inspected mine, but now I’m motivated to do so. I wonder if mine is already vented from the cover. It’s factory installed, so that would be nice.

The cover I got just had the threaded hole for the vent "mushroom" thingy. Had to put something in there.
