Just got home about 15 mins ago. I woke up a bit late today and kinda started out on the wrong foot  Grabbed my coffee, Got to the shop just under 10am.

Alright first thing I did was unbolt the plate off the engine stand, and put the ground strap on the back of the head.

Then I grabbed a -8 45 fitting and my -8 hose and put it on (this is the main forward fuel line from the pump) Then I just left it on the bench lol.... ( The main key is to keep doing something... even if jumping around as long as things are getting done im happy)

Stock 3 V flywheel on left , new 5.0 flywheel on right. Look identical, just balenced differn't and the 5.0 has more holes

DSC03974.jpg

I havn't taken a close look at the back of them otor because of the engine stand but I just relized the crank trigger is in the back now. Pretty trick stuff from ford.

:roflmao:

Bolted the flywheel on

Clucth bolted in

Shot from underneath of the header fitment :p

So then I go to walk to the bathroom and see my flexplate on the floor :mad2: Yes I forgot to put on the dam flex plate -_- :ugh1:

Removed everything again...

Bam! put that shit on (while cussing up a storm)

DSC03981.jpg

Ok put loctite back on all the bolts and put it all back together

DSC03982.jpg

After cleaning the trans tunnel a bit... The trans went back in (just like before the top two bolt's on the bellhousing is alot easier reach from inside the engine bay) Bolted the Drive shaft loop back up too. (no issues on anything)

DSC03983.jpg

Grabbed the starter , cleaned it and bolted it back up (no problem) Just had to take the studded motor mount bolt off to fit it in. Then put it back. Headers fitment really shines when everything goes in smooth.

Gotta hate it when you button something up only to see something you forgot...
I'm loving how easily some of this stuff is bolting up so far.

Ok so after lunch I walk over to my 3 valve motor on the stand and remove my Ford racing AC elim bracket / pulley. I line it up on the new 5.0 motor and it bolt's on perfect! At this point I am happy as hell :roflmao: (one less thing to buy)

DSC03986.jpg

But then.... Im eying down the pulley and it's inbetween the first and second set of ribs on the crank............
DSC03987.jpg

Bam lol Then I relize finally why there is two belts... one to run the ac..... Better yet.... I don't even need the ac elim! :roflmao: Less weight FTW :roflmao:

So I walk back over to the 3 valve and bolt it back up lol...

Grabbed some line andmade my vent tube for the cell to the chassis

In the mists of running the lines

DSC03990-1.jpg

The little blue -8 to -6 adapter off my fuel cell will be changed to black (on order) the blue one is what I could grab the fastest for now. So I drilled two holes one for my -6 return line and one for the tank breather. Everything so far on the fuel system isn't tighten up or finallized but you get the idea so far.

Starting to run the lines along the frame...

I thought of so many ways to run the two lines but going from above each other to beside back to above each other was what made me the happiest.

DSC03994.jpg

Im not done running the lines but in this pic im holding them against the frame so you guys can see what it will look like

I was done for the night but before I left I had to do one thing..... Grab the cold air and put it on just for a good look and to keep me motivated :roflmao:

My Man Jay @ JLT Makes some badass parts. There was only one cold air that came to mind with this new project.

I swear I didn't think it would fit under the dam hood because it's so massive :roflmao: I grabbed the moroso fuse boxcover and coolant tank just for the pic :p

All in all I felt like today I didn't get much done, I was feeling a bit wierd and fustrated but some things just take time. I hope to get alot more done tomorrow. But looking at these pics.. I guess it is coming together

Did you already replace the wiring harness matt?

Not yet, My goal is to remove all the interior stuff (scrape & paint the floors) at the same time put the harness under the dash and make everything fit the way I want. I will take lot's of pics when that happens.... soon I hope ;)

I wish I had the knowledge to do this kind of stuff like you! This is simply awesome!

lol that and a boatload of money!!

Great job Matt, so far what has given you the most problems, and consumed the most time? You seem to be cruising along really quickly and I am surprised at how everything 'seems' to be bolting right up. You are really making it seem fairly straight forward to make this swap. I am just curious on any 'problems' you might not have posted.

The only thing on my build that is the most time consuming is all my "custom race parts" but as far as the actually 5.0 swap everything has been amazing so far. Everything Ive learned ive been posting to see how many parts you can save off what your currently got. Im even re using my stock clutch lol. If I have any issues you guys will be the first to hear about it.

Maybe when im all done It might be good enough for a sticky thread
