Ahh I see where we differ now, i LOVE driving my car I don't see how I can ever get sick of it.
Believe me when I tell you there is no lack of fond memories lol.
I love driving mine as well, and also dont, and wont, get sick of it. But for me, I just find it senseless in my case to drive in stop and go surface street traffic risking crash damage from the mindless zombie, old fucks I have to contend with. I just dont see myself looking back years from now upon those "daily driver" trips with any kind of fondness. And any fondness would be wholly wiped out if I had a crash, ESP knowing I had a perfectly disposble car I COULD have been driving at the time of the wreck.
Cars are only original once. And while I have no notions of "collectibility" 20 years from now, no one thought 66, 68 or 70 Mustangs had any value at the time either. Shit, four eyed Foxes are gaining some traction in the market now, so one cant just dismiss the potential out of hand. With all those "daily driver" GTs having long since been worn out, discarded, wrecked, crushed, w/e, "just a GT" wont be common 20 years from now.
In addition to the aforementioned higher expense of fuel costs and wear and tear, since car shows and cruise ins are my "main thang" with this car, infrequent driving keeps it nearly show ready so I have very little work to do before heading out or upon arrival.
Finally, parking it at work would, at the very least, rapidly increase paint and interior fabric fade in the intense AZ sun.
Im not saving it for the next guy by any means, however, as I intend to die with the car. I said when I bought it Id go homeless and live in the car before I sold it.
And as far as chicks, for me, women and cars are nearly interchangeable, highly analogous within discussions. But, you cant "restore" yo bitch.
I may not save it for someone else, but I do want to keep it nice for me! LOL
