Lately I've been having this itch for more power. While the hotrod cams are really good I keep thinking about a more aggressive Cam. So people that have experience with these cams or suggestions about other more aggressive cams leave advice. Fyi..if I upgrade I would probably install a higher revving intake manifold to make use of the powerband

Should be 127600.

I have the 127550. Except for having to lock out the phasers, I haven't had any problems. Picked up good power with the centri. The 127600, however, I've heard can be a little rough on rocker arms. I believe most other cam manufacturers go with a max lift around that of the 1275X0 on their most aggressive cams.

I used the 127500's with my old combo and it worked great. Head cam combo full bolt on's on a stock short block made 405 Hp at the tire with no ac and bypassed power steering.

Did the exact same combo on someone elses car with the stock intake mani/ Charge motion plates and made 389 Hp with ac and power steering.

I was going to try the 600's next never got the chance. Even on stock heads they should pick up a great deal with valve springs equiped.

They would be the 127600's. Do you all think the stage 3's would be too much for the street? Now that yal mention the 127500's, are you all really satisfied with them all around. Like power and streetability.

What kind of power you think it would make with stock heads and the IM.?

I would say with the 127500's with the valve spring's you would be in the 360 ish range not changing anything except cams.

I Think Brandon with the RedFire All motor car has the same set up making 360-369 with stock heads / Frpp intake manifold.

I remember when I was learning about those cams a while ago the 600's required ported heads.

For full hp potential I wouldn't do the 600's without some porting.

Then again I don't think anyone has tried them on a stock head to see the gains. From I know and a few other's combo's the 127500's have always proven great results.

Ported or un ported I feel you can't go wrong with the 127500's. Behive valve springs and comp steel retainers and you are good to go. If you have the extra coin titanium one's wouldn't hurt but you wouldn't really see a benefit. I remember my car making peak power around 6900 and start to drop off about 7200 ish. I would shift it at 73-7400 and it would stay in the sweet spot.

I would do a billet oil pump gear set if you want to buzz it past 7000

I wouldn't see valve float past 7k would I as long as I have the beehive springs?

I think Chad (With the red S197) has buzzed past 7k on stock springs I think he is borderline on floating. You would have to ask him to confirm.

I personally have not rev'd past 7k on stock springs. I would do the behive springs 100 percent for those cams.

If you look on the Comp web site the standard beehive springs are only good to .500 lift. If you are going with the 127600 make sure you get the high lift springs #26125-24.

I had them with ported heads long tubes etc. made 390rwhp and the car ran high 11s at 115-117 mph. Very drivable on the street too, and sounded badass

This is good info as I have 500's to do this winter. Would you guys recommend different injectors? Or are stockers fine?

It was my daily driver in Houston traffic with 4.10s. It was fine, and on highway cruising still got good mileage. Had 39lb injectors in mine also, dk if they were 100% necessary, but I got them cheap.
