Great set-up!!!! Im looking to do the same mods with the cams and ported heads. Already have the longtubes and gt500 tb. Im worried about this black lung thing your talking about on the frpp manifold cause i was planning on getting it for myself. What is this black lung you guys are talking about?

the manfiold has a small amout of flex at low rpm's its really no big deal and from everything i read and the numbers it gave me i would say the FRPP is the best manifold on the market for our cars as we speak its worth it......FRPP FTW

Glad you/BBR got that thing figured out! and nice numbers, what gear are you running? I went from 3.73 to 4.56 and lost a shitload on the dyno.

I seem to recall reading that many race cars are adding compression to get throttle response and less boost for the power.

SO if you had 390hp at the wheels with 9:1, what would 10.5 or 11:1 give you?

1 point will generally (and this is a big "generally") yield 30-40 horsepower at a given amount of boost. I have seen as little as 27 hp and as much as 64 hp between a 9:1 engine and a 10:1 engine. What you're hearing out of this particular person is his rather obvious love for his 9:1 engine. His works fine for him so every single boosted engine needs to be 9:1 as well. Had this been stated in these terms I wouldn't have so much of a problem with the statement. However, when someone blurts out a blanketing pile of misinformation such as this.......it really pisses me off.

Sorry for the thread derailment. Interesting gains O/P.

Thanks bro Iam interested in seeing what power my car will make with a vortech and as far as compression I am happy with the power my car made for now just waiting on the coin to supercharge it

As little as 10 and as much as 25 depending on the camshafts.

Sounds about right, my car made 320rwhp with full bolt-ons stock heads/cams 9.8:1 compression.

After the engine build 9:1 compression, and 127300 cams it made 332rwhp. Most see 20-25rwhp gains with those cams so the .8 compression drop lost me around 10rwhp. And it made 600rwhp at 15psi no problem so i have no complaints with the 9:1 compression either.
