damn, will you hurry up !

Shit, Im trying!

Yesterday morning I thought all was going well.

First off I have parts waiting for me in Dallas that I need then I find out that I have to go to Belton TX yesterday morn. to solve an issue on a project instead of going strait to Dallas. I went to Belton , left there at about 1:00 and drove to Dallas and picked up my parts , check the tracking on my balancer. It was rescheduled for Mon. since IW put my old address on the package that was in there computer, unacceptable! So, I call UPS and they tell me if the driver makes it back before 6:30 I can pick it up there at the terminal. I said they better tell the driver I will be there waiting for my package no matter what time he gets there. Mon day is not an option! So, I get the package at about 6:20 and head home. My son had picked up my block and crank for me yesterday as well.

Well, after getting to the house and inspecting everything, the machine shop didn't put a new factory keyway in my crank and IW didn't send me my second key back with the balancer.

I then started a thread about the keyways on here and received the help needed. I found the stock keyway in Gilmer and drove there this morning and then while at Orilleys to get my S/C belt, I found that they carry the 1/4 stock for my second key.

Pwewww, now I can breath! I went home and went to work an well, here I am. :thumb2:

Are your phasers locked? Why not the V10 stuff? Do you degree your cams when you put the motor together or do you run the "straight up"?

Lol, like I have time for that.

Yes, phasers locked and cams are strait up as they were before. Manuel had mentioned degreeing and maybe retarding them some to gain a little more power up top, but like I told him, the car was running so well before so I didn't want to change anything.

As for the V10 stuff, I use there VCT block off plates and since my phasers are locked I just kept them as is.

Still not running! I had issues with the new hub IW put in the balancer. My bolts for the crank support would not thread in for nothing. I went and got new ones and same thing. I could put the fac. back in but my longer ones would not, they are the same pitch, same thread and every thing. Then I removed the balancer from the hub and it was not centered. I lined it back up and what do you know it fits. Cost me about 2 1/2 hrs. And then I get the motor in the car and am ready to bolt the headers up before the motor mounts and starter to be done under the car and what the hell, my parts guy gave me v6 exhaust gaskets!

I stopped there. for the day. If I go further it will be a pain in the ass to bolt up the headers. I did notice that I didn't put the main drive belt on though so I removed the front crank support spacers and install that along with the new3 row Fluidyne radiator to replace my leaking Mishimoto and connected my oil lines.

Its going to be a few days before I crank it now. I will only have a couple hours after work each day. I am hoping for Wed.

If only I didn't have the issue with the fucking hub in the first place. It has cost as much time as building the motor!

Anyways here are a few pics of where I set now. Trans is bolted up.

Few shots of the redesigned crank support.

And just incase I want to add the A/C back to the car, I have clearance to do so now!

Looking good. The hard stuff is out of the way (except for the waiting, lol). The rest will be a breeze.

No, That is a cheap ass Pepboys bullshit I only use when necessary! I have "real" jack stands holding the car. The alum. one you see in the pic is holding the trans only. :thumb2:

Who designed/machined the crank support? That's impressive. Do you have more pics of how the shaft/bearing is set up?

Is that a 10 or 12 rib belt? I'm going cross eyed trying to count the ribs.

Ya know what? You can remove the pulley from the water pump and run a shorter belt (6 rib). We have done it to a few cars including my 2007 and 908SSP's and it works great.

It is a 12 rib, I designed it and the crank support myself. I sent all the specs for the spacers and all my 12 ribs stuff to IW and they cut it for me. I had a company in Irving TX water jet the front and rear plate for me. It was much larger as you saw earlier in this thread. I like it better now!:thumb2:

Scroll back a few post and you will see the raw support without the pulleys ect.
