Ya know what? You can remove the pulley from the water pump and run a shorter belt (6 rib). We have done it to a few cars including my 2007 and 908SSP's and it works great.

I thought about that, but the idler pulley there cannot be costing me much.

It is a 12 rib, I designed it and the crank support myself. I sent all the specs for the spacers and all my 12 ribs stuff to IW and they cut it for me. I had a company in Irving TX water jet the front and rear plate for me. It was much larger as you saw earlier in this thread. I like it better now!:thumb2:

Scroll back a few post and you will see the raw support without the pulleys ect.

Is the pulley a one off IW setup? Pretty cool of them to do stuff like that.

It turned out real nice. Have you had any issues getting the bearing in the support to live?

I can't imagine your crank and oil pump would be too happy without the support.

Any issue sourcing belts in the right length? I'm running shorter ones on our R-Spec setup and KB 10 rib kits (about 51-53"). I have not been able to find off the shelf 12 rib belts. I would like to do the kits in 12 or 14 rib but I think I will need custom belts made to do that.:yuck:

It was there first like the 8 rib I used to have. They are both for sale on there site now though. The belt I use is not "off the shelf" I hade to order one from out of state just the other day. They are there but not common.

It's probably costing you zero. but it would be lighter and cleaner. And we know you like clean.
Its in my future for sure.

They aren't $600 if you order them without the pulley.:thumb2:

Oh and the headers are bolted up, uhhhh! Have I ever mentioned how I dislike the two DS rear lower bolts on my American Racing Headers...

Tomorrow I should get the motor mounts, starter, power steering pump, converter, and lower wires connected. Thus letting the engine hoist be removed and the car back on the ground.

Haha how much money you've sunken into the car so far to get it to where it is now.

I assume the times posted are accurate 1/4 mile times... If so having an almost 8 second street car is just pure awesome
