I know this is not exactly what your looking to do, but thought it could help.

I made a bulkhead out of .100 aluminum for my car. It's fastened all the way around the perimeter. It has an advantage for me and that is it stiffens up the rear of the car (like the BOSS 302 LS bars do). But I'm set up to go around corners. It is also nice to have the bulkhead for safety reasons. I don't have a fuel cell back there, but I do have water, trans oil, diff oil and a battery. Having a barrier between me and all that stuff is not a bad idea in my book.

It's sealed up tight too. Those 3" hoses come from NACA ducts in the rear quarter windows and they pressurize the trunk which helps move air through the rear mount heat exchangers.

This pic does not represent its finished look. There is a bar back there now and everything is carpeted and trimmed out.

I am going to order some carpet from this place http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCarpet.asp?Itemid=10585&MakeId=8&ModelId=201

I can get the black molded carpet for the cabin along with the trunk and flat stock for the seat delete all in the same carpet type and the molded unit wont have any holes in it like the factory carpet so it will look much cleaner with the one seat in the car now. Even though my car has parchment interior, I wanted the seat and all carpet to be black. It will look nicer longer after track visits. The stock interior has a lot of black mixed in already so it should all blend well and look clean.

Thanks, I think so as well.

I ordered the carpet today.

I also ordered some ARP bolts, that include the cam cap bolts, balancer pulley bolt, and flex plate bolts. I bought the ARP main side bolts a couple weeks ago and along with the main studs, head studs and rod studs I now have all ARP hardware where it counts.

I mounted the pistons to the rod and cleaned everything today after cleaning the garage. In the morning I will file fit the rings and assemble the SB and then start on the trunk and cell.

I would ask why but I already know the answer. It's the same reason we do all of this stuff to our cars. Insanity. Keeping the insanity concentrated to something like a car actually helps in our regular life. I think...

Why would I want a 12:1 CR with 20 psi? Why would I not let myself go fast last year till I got my 9.9x on 20 in wheels? Why would I try to get an 8.50 slip with a street car?

Well, yea I am a little crazy.

Because RACE CAR!:beerdrink:

Yea, its heading that way...

Heck yeah Billy, go get em:)

Thank you sir, I will do my best!

Billy so whatcha doing with that seat delete?

I think I will go ahead and cut in the alum. pcs I have now and cover it with carpet. I have all new carpet coming with flat stock for the rear seat delete and the trunk to match the new carpet for the cabin with no holes like the stock carpet. With the single drivers race seat, I think it will look much better

Well, the trunk wiring is done and all the wires that used to run under the rear seat an in the trunk are hidden.

I also finished the SB along with the SS o-rings for the copper head gaskets and am ready to install the heads next weekend after the valve job is done. I also still have to run the new fuel lines in the trunk and redo the console wiring and reconnect the MSD DIS4 boxes since they will finally get tested this year. After tuning is done I am going to see how large of a gap I can run with the MSD DIS4 setup in play.

Those head gaskets are sexy!
We will see, I have always been a fan of the OEM head gaskets. They say when you o-ring and use copper it is the best possible seal you can have. I guess I will find out.
