Gotcha. I've seen the FRPS give false results so I've always taken that measurement with a grain of salt.

I think we are onto something. Jeremy shared this with me the other day.
http://foreinnovations.blogspot.com/2014/02/increase-fuel-pump-capacity-50-for-free.html?m=1

Saturday at the track, I saw 80+ psi on my gauge.

We have had the base pressure at 55psi or so since the ID1000s were in the car. Now with the ID1300s, I dont need the base do high do we are lowering the base FP to 45 psi and going to retest this weekend.

We used to do that with the old school Ducati fuel pressure regulators.

Ok Billy, it's been almost a month so any updates.

Okay, here it is. Whent to a heart breaker of a Mustang dyno to finish tuning a couple of weeks ago. The convertor is very loose with the new power and was flashing to 5800 on the dyno. Car only made 720/600. So for those keeping track that is only about a 50 rwhp gain from my previous 9.0:1 motor. But, those are just dyno numbers so who cares right. I am still having FP issues with the pressure dropping 12 psi from 55 psi to 42 psi in the upper rpms. A/F still looks good though. I go to pull the car back in the trailer and it dies. No fuel pressure and injectors are not firing. FP fuse is blowing as soon I turn the key on so I push the car in the trailer and take it home.

After some trouble shooting, I track down a short. One of the ignition transformer capacitors is loose from the Alt bracket and has a bare spot grounded out on the Alt. Somehow when I did my wire tuck, I put them on the injector circuit instead of the COPs.

So, let's go to the track. I try some pulls at the track and test some 1/8 mile and only manage a 5.93 and let out due to FP dropping. Aggravated I load up and go home.

Now I swap my third pump, a 255, for a third 465 and remove a 90* fitting at the Fore tee and the FP is looking good in first and second. Then log again and it is dropping in third. But, everything still looks safe.

So last Saturday I go back to the track. First pass out the looses some power just before the 1/8th and I let out and here a noise then the oil pressure warning lights came on. No oil pressure! I kill it and coast to the first exit and stop. I restart for a second and there is 0 oil pressure and knocking. I loaded the car up with some help from others and brought it home where it still sits in my trailer.

A/F looks good on the log at about 11.0 and I think something just plain broke!

Dam Billy I wish I hadn't asked. Hopefully nothings major. On our race car we have a 2 quart pressurized setup that if we loose oil pressure below 20psi it dumps the 2 quarts directly into the oil system.

Got the motor out today. The balancer bolt had backed off and the bearing in my crank support is toast. The balancer will wabble on the crank but won't come off. I'm sure the hub in the balancer is toast and am hopping the crank is okay. I need a new puller and some grade 8 bolts so I can crank down on this thing. I will assume at this point that the crank bolt backed out and took out the main bearings and possibly the oil pump. I have no idea how the bolt backed out. I remember torquing it to 100 ft lb as it was more then I do normally.

Damn dude. That really sucks. I don't recall are you suppose to lock tight that bolt in? I never have but I've never had one back out either.

I had that bolt come out on the dyno. I KNOW I torqued it. We're you using a ARP? I was. I went back to the stock one.
