Current best time and hp/tq are in my sig. My vert with me in it weighed 3870lbs(spare and crap in the trunk and 3/4 tank of gas).

Since that track visit ive added steeda strut brace and lightweight radiator support brace. I will also be swapping my rear street tires for 18x10 Nitto NT555R Extrem Drag radials 305/40/18.

Mt buddy runs 13.4/13.5 in his stripped 98 V6 with a V8 motor/trans swap.

What do you guys think my new times will be with a good launch and will i beat out the v6 sleeper? Thanks

if you can get your 60s under 2.0 (and you shoudl w/ DRs) then you should be in the low 13s IMHO. 13.1-13.3

You should definitely be 13.0-13.1. You need to work on getting your 60's down.

My 5MT GT vert has minor mods; JLTII CAI, Steeda CMDPs and SLP LM axlebacks. Everything else is stock; 3.55's, DS, suspension, etc. I currently have ordinary street Falken FK452 255/35-19's back and front. Car dynoed last weekend at 282 hp and 300.3 lbs-ft of torque (STD). I do remove some weight from the car before going to the track, eg. passenger seat, rear seat and junk-in-trunk, which should be good for 128lbs, however, I do weigh in at about 230lbs myself.

I don't race it, I only do TnT's to get a feeler of how it does, so I'm not pushing the car to its fullest. My best so far is a 13.2435 with a 2.0459 60'.

Another question im not shifting to 4th just winding out 3rd to some where between 6400 and 6800 when i trap (my shift light comes on at 6400 and my rev limiter is at 6800 which i dont hit) i also have the 3.55 gear. is this okay or should i shift earlier to 4th, obviously i know some 373 or 410s would help n/a right now especialy with dr's but im going turbo next year and think i should stick with the 3.55

I'm also on 3.55's, and I just run it out in 3rd. Shifting at 6300-6350 seems to put the end of 3rd right after the line, so it works well for me. Trap speed is usually around 105.

LOL no shit, that's where I got my 13.2. Practice launching, and I'll guarantee you a 13.0-13.1 sec timeslip.

If it's hot out, the track will generally let you hook good at 3500-4000rpm. Also, for some reason I always find the right lane just a bit better than the left.

I liked the right lane but the sunday i was there for test and tune the right lane was broke and not giving timeslips but you could still run it. And it had a shorter wait. I ran 3 passes left lane for timeslips and like 5 in the right lane against others good mix of cars i raced too. 370Z(14.0), WS6(13.5), TL-s(14.2), Turbo civic( ran a 15.8 lol).
the WS6 got me by a car and ahalf good race though.
Yeah im from wake forest and my buddy's brother works at Big Wood racing in benson and thats the track they usually go to. And they will let u run with the top down hehe.

Im really tempted to go 4.10s as it will be at least a year before the turbo goes on, but hope i wont regret it after.

It's a small world indeed. I run around Cary most of the time.

Benson is nice, but the wait is killing me. Taking the 1hr drive down to Fayetteville on a hot Sunday usually gives you all the passes you want. For practicing your launch, you can't beat that. Plus, if you want to run top down they'll let you do that as well.

I'm actually going down to F for TnT with some other NA and FI S197 people in about two weeks. You're more than welcome to come along.

If it's only for the track, I'd say practice your launches first. Your car is quite capable of going over half a second faster as it is right now. Get it down in the low-low 13's, then use the 4.10s to bust into the 12's.

with the motors that are in these cars you will be surprised at how much difference it makes if you let your car cool down between runs. and when the weather gets cooler (oct-mar) you will see some amazing times out of your car. I have 4.10's but am staying n/a. In 80 degree weather I ran a best of 12.83 @ 106 of course after letting the car cool off last sunday
