More clearance. Now I have 3 inches from the carb to the top of the hood, before with the CJ style scoop I only had 1 1/2 inches---alot of people where saying that was too close.

Now, I cleaned it. Taking all that rubber off the 1/4 panels was a BITCH!

So lets review:

1) removed all of the internal parts of each door, cut out the center sections, but retained stock interior door panels (-30lbs)
2) JPC front and rear bumper tubing which replaced the stock bumpers (-25lbs)
3) Feathercarbon decklid (-30lbs)
4) Feathercarbon hood (-28lbs)
5) Misc crap (7-8lbs)

-120lbs.

Ok I'm taking a sawzal to my doors. Do your power windows still work?

No, the power window motors, tracks, crash bar, and the metal that is behind the interior door panel, all gone. I left just enough of the metal though so the stock interior door panel goes back on--so the door still looks stock. 15lbs per side.

Just on a non-technical side note, you ever consider tinting your front and side-marker turn signals? Your car is silver w/black stripes...could be cool IMO

but seriously, this build is absolutely outrageous, I wish you the best of luck this season and I look forward to the youtube videos

Ok, I am nearing completion, I spent the last two weekends and some evenings finishing this up so I can go to the track Thursday night.

Going to do some baseline runs on the motor before hitting the unit next week. As this car has already turned 6.0s in the 1/8th, I am hoping at 120lbs lighter I can hit low 5.90s or even sneak in a very high 5.8X on motor. We will see.

Here is the finished engine bay and some interior shots:

Note that I redid the fuel system, I am now running 2 regulators so I can adjust fuel pressure for the nitrous system without affecting the fuel pressure to the carb. Also, on the blow down tubes (steel braided line) -- noticed that I mounted them straight back, behind the bottles, instead of going down through the floor board. There was two reasons. 1) in that area of the floor board, I had the stock frame and the aftermarket subframe connectors in the way, and 2) exiting behind the bottles was easy, as nothing was in the way since the stock fuel tank is gone.
