Actually, fuck it.
Just talked to DOB and the R-Spec will work with 3v heads on a 5.4 or 5.8 block.

It'll require an adaptor since the heads will sit out wider. They make it wider for that?
Good luck finding a 5.8L block, I just sold mine.

And I know. I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about trying to pick up a dry sump Ford GT block since I'll be going dry sump anyways... I need to do some research because I know nothing about these blocks.
I wish hahaha. This build is at least a year or two off.Did you robbed a bank or something?
It would be good to get a complete engine so you have everything you need at once, piece it together is going to get harder and even more expensive.
With the dry sump I can drop the motor big time. What hood are you going to cover this beast with? Lol
Sc +manifold+adapter for 5.8 will be tall.
Interesting...Search jafromobile glyptal(spellcheck). Something to consider since your going crazy
Interesting...
Right now I'm for sure doing cryo and then WPC treatment. The WPC is awesome, but idk if it'll work with coatings
WPC would go on everything. You can't pick and choose which places it goes, it's like sandblasting.Would you use the wpc process on non moving surfaces? Glyptal is meant for non moving parts. IE iinterior of the block and heads, also spark plug holes. It's crazy how much it actually does
Agreed. Idk where the hell I'm gonna get a GT block though... should be interestingIf dry sump, look for GT stuff, is already solved and functional.
There are a lot of reasons to go with dry sump besides just oil starvation.Unless you are going for an all out road race car I don't know if you would really exhibit the kind of G's you would need to prevent oil starvation upon braking or mid turn to require a dry sump setup. I mean it would be nice to get the engine lower and some additional weight savings but is it really something mandatory or just a thing that would be cool to have?
