Wastegate vacuum line

I'm getting a new comp turbo from Jeremy and the rest of the parts are from the on3 kit. I have the bov and boost gauge run to the vacuum line at the intake. Some say its best to run the wastegate to the compressor others say the intake. My questions are which place is best or easiest cuz tapping that new turbo doesn't sound good, and where on the intake would I tie into? Maybe pics?

The line for the W/G has to come from a source before the throttle plate. You don't have to drill the turbo you can just tap into the cold side piping for the source. I did mine on the intake piping after the intercooler and BOV. I actually prefer using that location as you are measuring actual boost going to the engine, after loss from the intercooler. Just remember the W/G has to be sourced before the throttle plate and the BOV must be sourced after the throttle plate.

So I could tap into the pipe that runs from the intercooler to the the turbo then right?

Yes but it would be better after the intercooler, from the intercooler to the intake. To me that is the drawback of the turbo mounted W/G's and running from the tapped source on the turbo discharge. You are measuring boost at the turbo not at the engine. There is always some drop across the intercooler and if you source after the intercoller you are measuring boost as it enters the engine, which is what you want to control.

I uses the compressor, as it already had a fitting ready. But curious as to what line you're using? Push lock fittings? Cause I have those and I can't find the best line for it.

You can really use either one but I like going after the intercooler.

You want the wastegate source on the compressor cover or as close to the turbo as possible. That way if you develop a coldside leak somewhere you dont overspin/work the turbo. Also when placed like this it will let you know right away if you develop a leak as well. If you put the wastegate source after the intercooler and develop a leak before the intercooler your wastegate will be delayed or wont open at all and the turbo will keep spinning up.

If your nervous about drilling and tapping the turbo cover you can do the piping just downstream, its a little more tricky though since the piping is thinner so less material to thread.

It has that spot built in specificly to drill and tap a fitting, can easily be done without disassembling the turbo.

Here is a shot of the cover before the fititng is installed, it is thicker to allow for easy tapping.

That's fn awesome! Are there certain fittings a need to use? One more thing when that turbo is done do they ship it or do you? If I can I would like to pay to have it shipped quicker, not to be a burden I'm just running out of time they will be shipping me out of state again soon

I would use a 1/8 npt tap and a 1/8npt to 1/8 barb male to male fitting.
It will ship directly to you via fedex home delivery.

What size Comp Turbo did you order? Mine had a clearance issue with one of the sensors from the block and I couldn't fit the fitting in the turbo housing if I wanted to. I just welded a 1/4" SS barb fitting about 2" down from the turbo housing and that seemed to work out just fine.
