for what its worth my car stock engine/ auto trans with a p1 at 12 pounds and exhaust went 11.7 with an email tune from bbr. id say see what the car does, practice shifting, and take some weight out of it if you can. not sure how much boost a p1 will take but pulley it as low as you can and call it a day.

i believe someone had said before a p1 would max out around 600 wheel. it should come down to the rpm of the blower and at what point the iat makes more boost pointless.

there is a 3.4 pulley that I ordered for mine, but I have full exhaust and I lose some boost through that. are you running long tubes etc?

well bottom line - will a 5.0 with a blower be faster than your car? Yes

However at what cost is that worth it to you?

Off the cuff, you get 20K for yours, pay 28K for 5.0 (guess)

cost $8000

add blower for 5.0 plus some suspension upgrades

$5500-7000 (?) depending on kit

assuming all work done by owner:

$13,500 - 15,000 costs to gain .2-.5 of a second?

IMO - gotta make a few passes and see what the car does first.

I pondered either parting mine out, or trading it in as is and buying a Boss or a used GT500...I thought about the pros and cons alot. The end result, I still love my car, I am not willing to just flush all that $$$ away that Ive already spent on it(I work too hard for my cash), My car is just about paid off so no more, payment, and after a few months I would be kicking myself in the ass for having another car payment, and another $$ mod pit.

I am glad I kept my car..And 11.60 @ 121 mph in the quarter isnt too shabby on a stock SB..

Yeah, I have long tubes o/r h , delete plates, that will be causing me to lose some boost. I'd just go to the 3.4 pulley and run it. You've got a great foundation, or get rid of the p1 and go to an f1a or something bigger that will for sure put you where you want to be.. That is my final decision. lol

Might want to tighten that belt. My p1 with a 3.9 and full exhaust in the stock block made 12 psi at 500 hp though an auto.

Hmmm. But i mad 10 on a stroker so shouldnt the boost be lower than ur stock sb did. Also it made 12 psi with cats and 10 with off road H

Did you have long tubes? I'm assuming so since you said full exhaust

keep what you have. otherwise have fun chasing a unicorn. someone will always be faster, have deeper pockets, a different car altogether, whatever. the 13+ cars are pretty hot looking, but not worth starting all over again. IMO, the interior and exterior are alright i guess, but i personally prefer the 1st gen s197s moreso. the 5.0 is appealing, but so is a boss, so is a shelby, so is the upcoming 15 mustang. catch my drift?
