I've had both DOB setup and now a Paxton. I had nothing but high iat problems and heat soak issues (using the m122 roots which you mentioned has the worst thermal efficiency) and Lito was quite concerned with my setup while tuning. Now with the Paxton Novi 2200 with A2A have no issues at all.

I was curious about the aftermarket MAF sensors (SCT BA5000 and some of the others) and their ability to read the IAT's. Are they an instant read or still delayed?

I don't know. If I had to bet my own money I would wager that they behave like the OEM ones do. I think they're OEM units that have been re-calibrated. That wouldn't change their ability to "keep up".

Add to the fact the reading IAT at the MAF location is not ideal anyhow.

So, does water transfer heat 24x or 26x faster than air? ;-D

All kidding aside, another great and informative read.

Well written DOB. Follows basic principles of physics where compressing a medium is concerned as well as heat displacement. Love the KISS approach.
