Sorry about your bank account. Another example of why I refuse to use a debit card. By sticking with credit cards only the bank's money is at risk when shopping online. My checking account info isn't shared with anybody.

Well the terrifying thing is, this is the second time it has happened to me. So this will be the third card issued to me in 2 years. I barely use it online and only when I need to. Crazy thing the only places I order online are for mustang parts if I can't get them here locally. Just crappy situation all together.

If you use a credit card then if the info is stolen you only lose access to some credit, your bank account is still yours.

Best of luck getting it resolved.

well I don't have any credit cards, and honestly don't want them lol. It was just my bank account card. Which they froze the account and everything was put back into it besides a 20$ charge which I need to file a claim against today to get that back. Other than that I am just waiting on a new card to come in the mail.

Just an FYI, its not a bad thing to have a credit card. I actually put all my purchases every month on it and pay it off at the end of each month. I get air miles and my bank card info isn't all over the place. Id have to go to the bank frequently or carry a bunch of cash around if I payed that way. I refuse to do that because If were to ever get robbed they'd only get 40 bucks. I'll get the credit card stuff back.

Good luck with it.

Also an FYI, TitanMotorsports on Ebay seems to have the cheapest price on ARP bolts, but I had to wait about 2 weeks to get them. I got head and main bolts. I'd call them first to see if you can get them quicker if you are going that way.

Which is true, I just never needed nor wanted for one. Everything I have ever paid for has been with cash, or off a bank card with money I had.

I can get them from summit in about 3 days no problem, but I just haven't had the chance to order them yet. My stuff goes to the machine shop in about a hour or so, my father is dropping it off so hopefully it can be done without the side bolts. If not, the wait begins.

Well I just tigged my fittings to accept the stock oil pressure gauge and the new mechanical gauge. Everything still needs to be cleaned up including the oil/coolant adapter. But making progress.

I will have to mock it up when I get the block back from machining. If not I cut and notched a whole other set up to work just needs welded up to how I need it. I'm hoping this does though. I just threw it together quick.

Also! machine shop called today, everything is ready to be picked up, 2 day turn around. that's quality service right there. Will be picked up Monday morning! I'm excited! but definitely not ready, I don't have much of anything else I need to assemble it.

May anyone know the part number to this heater core nipple? Or what size O rings it needs, since I have an entire kit.

You can buy a plug kit from frpp that has it included for $12. I used orings from a kit on one of my builds. It's not too hard to figure out which ones to use. The ones I ended up with fit perfect inside diameter but were just a little bit to big on the od. A little vasoline and everything was fine.

Alright I will have to look that up, I figured I could try to match the orings, but didn't know if they had to be a certain material like Viton, EPDM, etc.

so my machine shop only had 4 sets of rod bearings when I went to pick up my stuff, I got the other 4 sets today. I know their was a switch and stuff and now their Michigan 77's and so forth. But I'm not sure how I feel about using two different sets, or is it just paranoia lol

Alright so after learning that the 3v and gt500 oil pumps are the same besides the pressure relief spring, I am going to pick one up at local auto parts store, melling m340 and reuse the pick-up tube I already have.

Some Q's, has anyone used the fel-pro rear main seal or stuck with the oem? I know some have had leaking issues or wouldn't go on. Just wanted to know before I either make a trip to Ford or get a fel-pro at the parts store. Also, any idea what torque value the boss 302 rod bolts are suppose to be?? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Don't use the fel pro. They supply a National brand. I've had issues the only time I used one. Spend the money for oem Motorcraft.

IIRC the bolts are 55 ft lbs. It's posted in one of my theads by 19COBRA93.

that's what I figured, I was going to go ahead and get the oem seal anyways from the dealership. I have heard way to many things about it either not fitting or not working or leaking from the fel-pro.

Awesome, that helps so much! I'll have to search your threads to find it and see if I can find out any more info! you the man Bruce!

Edit: After going back and trying to find the thread and values, all I found was a sequence in three steps, and it doesn't state anything about 55 ft lbs. So I just want to know where you came up with that? Or did I not find the right thread :(

Well had a free set of 5.4 heads, only thing I had to do Saturday morning was head to the place to pull them, 1 hour and 15 minutes later I had a set of heads all with some hand tools and a breaker bar.. not to shabby I say!

finally bringing this back up from the dead! while I haven't posted on here in a while throughout that time I have stock piled parts and pieces and learned a lot on the way.

since then I have gotten my clutch (went with gt500 flywheel and clutch of a 2012), also learned you must use the gt500 throw out bearing/slave cylinder for it, new timing set, gaskets, head bolts, a lot of arp fasteners (side bolts, flywheel, pulley, etc). also thought it would be a good idea to get a stainless clutch line, I am blown away why ford didn't do anything different from factory on this. And all the other small things for the build.

the last thing left to do is take the 5.4 heads to the machine shop for a valve job and a resurface. So hopefully in the next week or so I have them back. Will be lapped in and assembled. I do however and replacing valve springs, should I go with stock 4.6 take offs? or upgrade the spring? I won't be running cams, but it will be seeing boost in the future. So this is where I am held up at the moment.

Other than that it's been slow but fun and I have enjoyed it. If anyone knows much about the CP saleen pistons and rings please fill free to comment. I have the rings that came with it, but there is only one set that's marked and I assume they are the scraper ring since it's just a plain looking ring, and the dot faces up I know, but the bevel faces down which should be the second ring. The top ring (which I assume) it's the top ring has the shiny face with no dot marks, but the bevel should face up towards the head. Just making sure I put the rings where they are suppose to be as my pistons and rings came with no instructions or detailed sheet.
