I know what you mean about the big rigs. It's funny to me to see someone with a $300,000 transporter, pulling an $200,000 trailer and then watch them unload an 8 second bracket car. No special class or anything, just a bracket car. I always say to myself "WHY".

I have seen the same stuff, but they unload two JR dragsters LOL. I mean, more power to them if they have the money, but geez.

you could lease the trailer out to a college kid during the off season as a small apartment to recoup some of your investment! it's nicer than the first house i bought lol.

I am sure I will have better luck then my first one. My first one that I got for $6K was pretty old, built in 1996 I think, but it had a winch, cabinets, tool box, A/C, etc, so it was a good deal. Anyway I used it for 3 years but one trip out to Tenn, on the way back we lost a wheel. Then another one on the same side we started losing a wheel bearing. We almost got stuck in New Mexico but a shop was able to fix it and we just made it home.

So I remembered that while shopping for trailers, and just decided to go new this time.

Damn, that is fancy! Nice stuff to have when spending a lot of time at the track, especially if you are sleeping there.

^^^ yeah I am not high dollar like you, staying at 5 star hotels and drinking all the beer while I am stuck camping at the track...

Actually I like staying at the track, especially at big events. Sitting around a camp fire, talking to everybody, its pretty cool.

Something to be said for not being stuck in traffic trying to get into the track the next morning too. Wake up and there you are. Hanging out at the track is definitely fun, for back east where the humidity sucks a hotel is a nice luxury though. Nice to pass out in a dry, air conditioned room after those above mentioned beers.

1star hotels for this guy though, I'm a baller on a budget :)

Small update: Heads finished. New guides, new titanium valves, valve job, etc. Below are the flow numbers on the worst port. Picked up quite a bit in the mid range, which is what we were after vs just peak numbers---as the valve will see .500/.600/.700/.800 lift twice vs peak lift at 1.000.

Oliver rods and Diamond pistons next, as well as the custom ground camshaft. Valve springs are going to be pricey because of the cam, which will probably have 1.000+ inch lift.

Now that the heads are finally figured out and done, hoping the rest of the build will go a lot faster / smoother. The old valves were used to experiment with different cuts to see what the head liked or didn't like. Once the best cuts were determined, we ordered the titanium valves from Victory with those cuts, but it took over a month to get the valves. But they are done now so onward.

2.45 intake valve, 1.85 exhaust valve, @ 28", Superflow 600, 4.625 bore.

Just catching up on this thread, don't look in this new forum too often. Paul, I have the same brand trailer in a 30' very similarly equipped other than the bathroom, and it's been a real good one. My #1 bitch is that it is heavy. I've got a 4k RV generator with a 14 gal tank in mine, roof air, the typical L cabinets, winch in the base cabinet, floor spare tire compartment, etc. With my car at about 3300lbs at the time, golf cart, all the normal crap like tools but no excessive extra parts, not too much race fuel, etc, it was pushing 13k lbs on a cat scale. I really thought it was probably a ton lighter than that. I'd say get yours on a scale with it fully loaded once you are ready, you sure don't want CHP to be the ones who tell you that it's overweight. Cops have been fucking with race trailers real bad this year, all over.

Good feedback. Yeah I don't think the truck will have any problem towing that, but I need to check the GVWR and go from there.

Just curious, how heavy is a golf cart vs a quad? The quad is 372lbs.

Anyway I do need to check on that.
