Waiting on shop space, and waiting on my rotater-cuff surgery. Trying to pay off a couple of bills also, need about 12k for the carI forget, is it waiting on something to be completed?
Hi MrAwesome987,When did Ford start using the redesigned rockers? Were they ever used in a stock Mustang?
Thanks for the info! Much appreciated. I may have to pick up a set of them just for insurance.Hi MrAwesome987,
I don't know when Ford 1st revised the replacement cam followers but I know that in 1 of Ford Tech Mackuloco's videos dated 9-25-17 he showed 1 of these revised cam followers (was demoing the usage of the Ford 1039 valve spring compressor to change out a cam follower) so they've been out for quite some time (my hunch is that the 5.4L folks may have known of these earlier than us 4.6L folks as the 5.4L Triton engines used the same head, cam, VCT design & a LOT more of them were produced later on since 4.6L production ceased). My car is a '09 GT Glass Top Edition & this engine in it is the original OEM VIN matched engine so I'm gonna assume that none of the original production 4.6L 3V Mustang engines came equipped w\ these revised cam followers...only the original ones (the 1 in picture on top) w\ the larger oil squirt ports.
I know mine wasn't originally equipped w\ the new revised ones....but she is now.
PS---Book price per follower was $4.52 ea (off Ford.com) so a full set of these followers is $108.48 + tax. I got mine a little cheaper as my buddy behind the parts counter at my local Ford dealer gave me a discounted price but the book price isn't bad either IMHO...….
Check out this thread:https://www.s197forum.com/threads/lunati-voodoo-21270700-camshafts.136257/page-4 posts #64 & #67 to see some other items of interest concerning these cam followers that you may also have as I noted a small stamping defect on several followers on the DS head that wasn't present on the followers on the PS head that may have also played a part in the failure as this defect was in the same area that the broken follower's break started....
FYI.
Long, slow recovery on the rotator cuff. Had mine done last August and I'm not sure if something went wrong or if I reinjured it or what, but I am still in pain and have very little strength with it. Can't start a big chainsaw any more.Waiting on shop space, and waiting on my rotater-cuff surgery. Trying to pay off a couple of bills also, need about 12k for the car

Been driving it as much as I can as long as the temp is over freezing. Cold enough in the morning that I can't really drive it to work with the pavement being in the 20s. More worried about the drag radials getting destroyed by the low temps than anything else.
Noticed that apparently I'm getting a small leak from the work I did on my GT500 pump install so the bottom splash guard is gonna have to come off at the least. Hopefully it won't be tough to figure out where the leak is at, it's a small enough one it might be challenging.
Also had a mouse in the car, under the hood. That was fantastic. Trapped it that same night I found the critter under there. I've seen what mice can do to wiring harnesses, wanted nothing to do with that problem.
I replaced all six stepper motors in my gauge cluster and I'm happy to say that all of my gauges now work perfectly.
Well got it mostly put back together after the clutch change...still gotta put the exhaust back on. Kind of a shame I'll never see this thing unless I'm under the car.
Which loop is that? Are you lowered? X or H pipe? I have the same shaft but lowered 2" and X pipe and the BMR unit doesn't fit at all. Trying to find another one that may work.
The Moroso did not fit with Kooks LT and H pipe. Was able to bend it to make it work though.Loop is a Moroso, I'm lowered 1.5". I think a lot of the loops don't fit with X pipes or at least that's what the disclaimer on this one says. I'm really hoping it works with my H pipe.
