Commercial real estate with a good company. No college degree here. Just made sure every time I switched jobs, it was always a step up. But I have had a lot of time to do this as I am now 46.
It's also priorities. I don't spend a lot of money on really anything else, I have no car payments, I mean I did buy two used quads, have a couple guns, a DSLR that is pretty old but still takes great pics, a mountain bike, some hiking/climbing, and that is about it. The other hobbies I have, you have a big first expense, then its cheap from there on out--like mountain biking for example.
This racing thing is by far the most expensive, as even when your car is racing, I can spend easily $500 for a weekend event when you add up the tow vehicle gas, the track and class entry fee, race gas, etc.
