Oh I am getting rid of the intake, I found a Hogan's sheet metal intake that is 2 inches shorter--better for the rpm range I am looking at (6000-8200) and plus I don't think I will have to cut my carbon fiber hood.

Oh, and yeah I have issues. Many issues.

Have you ever looked into Merge Collectors for your headers? Buddy of mine went to them on his big cube N2O Pontiac engine and saw some nice HP gains on the engine dyno for minimal cost.

yeah i should look at those. seems like a pretty easy way to pick up some power. Do you have any info on what people have normally picked up going to a merge collector vs a standard one like mine? Its a step header, 2 1/16 to 2 1/4 to 2 3/8 to a 4 1/2 inch collector.

My new Hogans intake came in today. Pretty sweet.

Behold………..the sword of power…..Excalibur!!! My Hogan intake. The runners are shorter vs the intake I got with the heads, this will be a much better match to the rpm I want to run. The shorter runner will make power higher in the rpm range (6000-8200). Its a newer design also, and the carbs sit at an angle. They did this before split dominators became common place.

Oh the runners already are tapped for a fogger…….oh golly gee, I am so disappointed…..

Updated first post with basic build info. I will add more info to first post as I progress as well as in the thread.

Terry--I chose to enjoy life to the fullest now, as no one is promised tomorrow. I have learned this through 1st hand and 2nd hand experience, as I am sure you have examples you can think of to I bet. That is the whole reason why this car even exists in the first place. But that being said yes I do have a good job and I try to pay for said toys in cash whenever possible--and I am just a spry little kid at only 46 years old haha.

I did wonder how old a fellow you were but was not going to ask.
You are young I guess compared to me at now 68.

I LUV seeing and reading all about your Mustang as you continue to make changes to it.

Honestly some of it is really over my head but even though that be the case I still like reading all about it.

Oh and I do totally agree with the way you decided to live your Life Fully.

Trust me no children here so no worries on leaving material resources to them for me.

That is why my Mustang continues to go back and forth to Brenspeed where it is right now.

Like you I do try my best to pay CASH for it each time around.
(That might not be possible this time around though for me)

For what it is worth I appreciate the general conversation between us.
I'm not use to that here on S197.

Also while I'm typing I wish the Very Best of LUCK on this new endeavor you are now in the middle of.

I will have some cool updates in a couple weeks, but in the meantime I thought this was a cool comparison:

The intake I got with the heads on the left, and the Hogan's intake I will be running on the right.
