They don't make these games for the competitive community; they make them for general consumer. I imagine as long as the game continues to sell, they will keep doing the se thing.

While this is true, Infinity Ward has to realize how much money is in competitive gaming and how many eyes are on it. Also the fact that it is all ancillary monies laying on the table. Why wouldn't you do your best to make it somewhat similar to other games in the sense that it can be played competitively. Just my .02, I love ghosts and will continue to play it.

Black Ops 2 so far has been the best, most competitive COD to date. I can't wait until next year so I can throw this game to the side, but then again it hasn't even been a full week since it's release. I guess I'll wait it out to see what fixes and updates come into play by the end of the year.

I agree, I like this COD a lot, but IMO Black Ops 2 has been the best one since COD4. So far I am really digging the campaign in this one though.

The Staff Officer in me cringes at his use of the phrase "literally the exact same maps"... They are not the exact same; otherwise they would look "the exact same".

But he does have a point. Looks like they reused the basic structure.

Yeah, people say its the exact same map or exact same game. No, its not expansion paks for Duke Nukem 3D were the exact game, same weapons, same enemies, sometimes even the exact same levels except backwards. that would be the same. This is using the same engine, tweaked in some spots and reusing some things which as a consumer doesnt bother me, because I still get fun and entertainment out of the game.

every time a new cod comes out everyone says how much it sucks and how the last one was sooo much better. Its all quite annoying, Just play the damn game and if you dont like it stick to the one you do.... or dont. I dont care.

Yep, the people that say they hate it so much still play it. For people saying in reviews this COD sucks and its not going to be as popular, last night when I was playing their were over 500K people playing Ghosts.

Oh and Capt, sorry for sucking in extinction mode hahaha. I wasn't really paying attention the wife was trying to tell me something like the whole time haha

While you are somewhat right, I am of the minority who chooses to play competitive games when I do play a console FPS (Halo or COD). The gameplay needs quite a few adjustments, and if Infinity Ward can manage to implement some decent maps that are less obstructive, smaller, and more simple, then the game may stand a chance. I am also a fan of map remakes as well, and luckily Infinity Ward happened to remake a decent map, but it's sad that the remade map happens to be THE best map in Ghosts.

They don't make these games for the competitive community; they make them for general consumer. I imagine as long as the game continues to sell, they will keep doing the se thing.

You're right, but competitive console gaming is still heavily increasing year after year. Games like Halo have implemented MLG playlists that focus on the competitive gamer, and even Black OPs 2 had an implemented playlist that was centered around competitive gaming as well. Infinity Ward is actually working side by side with the premier professional gaming league, MLG. In the coming months there will be an actual tab to cycle through or a matchmaking playlist geared toward competitive settings. Hell COD generall holds COD XP tournaments each year that include a million dollar prize pool. This also hold true to companies like Bungie, and 343 Industries who actually work with MLG to construct games.

While this is true, Infinity Ward has to realize how much money is in competitive gaming and how many eyes are on it. Also the fact that it is all ancillary monies laying on the table. Agreed, I don't mind Ghosts, and I will continue to play it. I'll probably end up attending an even or two over the next season as well. It just sucks that Infinity Ward has yet to step up their game - but they sure did nail it with COD 4 years ago.

But enough belittling the game for right now lol,

What are some other peoples favorite classes? Seems like I have to switch up every other day from what was working so I need to start trying to new classes/perks this is probably the first time I havent paid much attention to the perks so whats been working for you guys?

I have had success with this class

MTAR, Red Dot, Grip
P226
Frag, Flashbang
Strong arm
Steady aim
gambler
and fully loaded

also the same perks with the AX160 and the SA-805. When I am in a groove, I can dominate with teh MSBS class posted earlier, but things can get ugly quick for me with that gun haha. When I get home today im going to try and concentrate on different perk combos, or maybe give the honey badger a whirl

Haha, I'm with ya man! You should try using the MTAR without red dot, it's pretty nice with out it and you can add an extra attachment somewhere else. Since the MSBS is so overpowered and broken, and is also banned in competitive play, I have been using the Remington and SC 2010 more than anything for an AR. I haven't played around with SMG's much, but the MTAR seems to stand out quite a bit. I'm still not familiar with the names of all of the perks, but I'll get online later on today and go over some of them. Just make sure you have Stalker, Quickdraw, and Focus on your AR - they are staples.

I used the Remington for a while, was killing it then all of sudden I couldnt buy a kill with it hahaha. I need to try those perks for sure!

I normally have no problem using iron sights, but the MTAR iron sights just dont do it for me. The Vector with grip seems to be pretty legit as well.

Yeah, the MTAR iron sights do block a lot of your view. The only downside to the Remington is the clip only retains 24 bullets. That's where the SC2010 seems to trump everything. Also? For you hardcore guys, you should look into a Scuf controller. Here is mine. I'm sure XB1 versions vill be available shortly. Mine doesn't show the paddles on the back or the trigger stops in the pic.

This is actually really common. In animated graphics you have a 3d wire frame to get the general size and shape, then apply a single or multiple 2d images (called skins) around the 3d frame to create your object.

I'm bummed because they used many of the same maps with new skins. Someone mentioned you can't do a ground up game of this magnitude in a year. I disagree. Also, it doesn't take to years to make new skins either.

They don't make these games for the competitive community; they make them for general consumer. I imagine as long as the game continues to sell, they will keep doing the se thing.

This is the truth. The whole thing of releasing BO and MW games every other year is strictly market for Christmas and to push a fresh paint job to make cash... and they get my money every time. (damn it)

every time a new cod comes out everyone says how much it sucks and how the last one was sooo much better. Its all quite annoying, Just play the damn game and if you dont like it stick to the one you do.... or dont. I dont care.

But if we didn't talk about thinks we like or don't like through forums on the internet, S197Forum wouldn't exist. So that's a bad way of looking at it. Just sayin'

SO... MODDED CONTROLLERS... who's got em'?

I have a custom built Scorch Rapid Fire Elite to turn those semi's into a full auto nightmare.

My brother has one of those scuf controllers, they're pretty cool. It sucks that you cant play games that use rt to accelerate though.

I've looked into the Scuf Controllers, they are legal in mlg so I figure why not. The paddles seem like a smart idea and you don't have to take your thumbs off the sticks. I want to get a wired one as well.

Lakers have you ever used Kontrol Freaks? When I get back in town I want to get in a lobby and spectate your play! Lol!

I have used Knontrol Freaks, and they're uncomfortable to me. If I didn't throw em away, and still have them you can take them. I'm in Ft Worth right now, and I'll be home around 7:30. Honestly the main reason I picked up a Scuf was for the trigger stops for my M8 shot on Black Ops. I already played claw, which means I use my middle finger to shoot and my pointer for a, b, x, and y. Try it out.

The claw is too much for me.. Lol. Is the whole point of kong too freaks that they make the stick taller so it takes less to move it a further distance? Basically more "leverage" so to speak?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. It somewhat allows you to play on a much faster sensitivity as well. It's all muscle memory though, so over time it would probably be better to use them, but they're just too uncomfortable to begin with. There are different versions though.

Here's the back of my Scuf.

I use the Kontrol Freeks but only on the right stick. It does allow me to be a little more precise in my aiming, which I'll take all the help I can get with.

Anyone else really liking the Blitz game mode? I definitely prefer it to CTF, but you really need to play as a team which can be tough with randoms.

I love playing blitz! My favorite and most played game mode. Domination is laggy for me and cranked is fun but I have never been awesome at a TDM style of play. I was watching some Search and Rescue play and that looks fun!

Blitz is fun but it is damn near impossible with randoms. A friend and I tried it a few times, but we couldn't get anywhere with our garbage team mates

Opinions: Is the game worth getting?

my opinion is yes. If you like the fast paced gameplay off COD I think you will like it. Also this may just be me, but I don't see killstreaks dominating games as much as past COD which is a good thing.

Search and rescue is really fun, but like blitz you need team work to succeed. When I am playing by myself I stick to Kill Confirmed, or domination.
